My back was a little tight this morning, but I still motored around the neighborhood at an 18:22 pace. In the 87% humidity we had this morning, it will have to do.

I resemble this remark.  Thank God I work out as much as I do, or else...  :porked:
One benefit I didn't expect that I've derived from the garmin watch I got in January is checking my calories burned at 8 pm or thereabouts and see how much cheating I've justified for that night.

 
Back to taking it seriously today.

Day 12 yoga with Adriene between work calls

Did day 6 again between another set of calls, back to back days of abs was tough but feels awesome now that I'm done

Ran a MAF 5k 

Stayed under calories and ate my vegetables 

Played with my kid

I did 5000m on Wednesday and my shoulders were sore so cut it back to 2000 yesterday and really focused on my form. 

Looking forward to some longer rows but after doing some reading I will start slow and gradually build  

 
Day 6 with Adriene has arrived!  I watched the video last night and it didn't look that bad (we'll see how it goes though).  I do a good bit of ab work with my body combat/HIIT workouts so hopefully I'm prepared.  Will also target a 45 minute body combat this evening.  

 
Haven't posted in a while but im doing ok.  Not exercising as much and having a couple drinks a day, but have the eating under control so weight is staying around 195 which us great for me considering everything.

I did lose 4 pounds yesterday for colonoscopy prep :lol: and I'm pretty sure I haven't weighed this little in 30 years.

It's not that big of a deal, IMO.  One day of prep which is basically a cleanse and on the following day the procedure where you are sleeping.  They found one polyp which will be tested but they think it's nothing.  I go back in 5 years.

And there is nothing better than the first meal after the procedure :lol: I went ~36 hours without eating solid food so that chick fil a sandwich and large fries was magnificent.

Before @Otis asks, no, you cannot go have a colonoscopy five days in a row.

I had to have one about 15(?) years ago due to an issue that was occurring and having family history.  Then I got one last year as well.  The difference between the prep the first time and the second was extraordinary.  They are a breeze now.

 
Well I have Crohns disease (have had it since I was a kid) so I'm all too familiar with the colonoscopy prep.  I do the gatorade/miralax prep which is a piece of cake.  And yes the first meal afterwards is divine!

 
7542 in 30:00 - 172 avg HR. Puts it at 1:59.3 per 500, Best "30:00" row I have on record. 

Peak Rowing did a 10K in 39:26.6 for a 1:58.3 per 500 and 170 avg HR. 

Not quite there, but not too far off either. Tomorrow we rest (as much as entertaining a 2 year old in 95 degree heat with nowhere to go can be considered "rest"). Happy weekend everyone, stay safe.

Very similar story for me. 
lost 4 pounds during prep. Procedure was uneventful, nothing found, back in 10 years. First meal on the way home was Chick-Fil-A. 
 

So far I have only gained 2 lb. back so maybe this should be Otis’s new fad diet.

 
Went around my route at an 18:09 pace. For the first time, my average speed ticked up to 3.3 mph. Also, the scale says I lost an even pound this week. Cheat day underway.

I think it was the surprise factor more than anything - I had never had a tough yoga workout before and didn't realize how hard you could work during these sessions. Since then I've started doing day 6 as an extra session most days. It still kicks my butt, and my form started to slip today because my legs couldn't handle it more than my abs, so I'll probably take a day or two off from abs, but it's not the same soreness the next day that I felt after the first time either. Just a good tough core workout. 

Finished day 14 today, plus the aforementioned day 6, and just finished up on the treadmill.  Pouring myself a Guinness.

Since then I've started doing day 6 as an extra session most days. I've been using the focus on breathing to try to work on my lifelong insomnia.  It does a lot of good.

 
my dr said it was unnecessary, at this time.  51  no family history   i didn't argue. :oldunsure:
According to the US Preventive Service Task Force, 50 is the starting age for colorectal cancer screening, assuming no family history. The American Cancer Society recommends screening even earlier, at age 45. There are multiple potential screening tests, though colonoscopy is generally preferred. USPTF guidelines here
 

 
Grocery shopping day. Ate a good breakfast and planned ahead for some "fun" meals like shrimp cocktail and some "lazy" lobster (cut up pieces of fresh cooked lobster). Going to have a lobster roll for dinner. Made up for not replenishing my wine stock. Planned out my meals in advance, no snacks. I'm sure that I'll regret that one night this week but screw slightly future fred, I'm working with further in the future fred now. 

 
Maybe I’ll start rowing again this week. Alas, today is Sunday, my GAFs are MIA, and the local Mexican joint has amazing shrimp tacos and margaritas for pickup...

I had a little GAF this morning.  Couldn't sleep so got up early and forced myself out into a misty rain for a walk.  Logged 10.3 miles before 11 a.m.

On the downside, just now I ate all the Mexican food.  And I need a nap.

Round of disc golf in the morning, walk around the neighborhood with my dogs and then a 10:00 minute 1700 meter row in an attempt to stay disciplined. 
 

 
I walked our stupid dog like 5 blocks. Had 6 tacos and three margaritas. Downshifting to white wine spritzers now. GO GO GO

Drove to mammoth. 5.5 hours. On 3 hours of sleep. Plan on eating and drinking everything.

But!  There will be high elevation hiking and mountain biking, daily.

Just added another four miles for the hell of it.  GAF partially engaged.

Breakfast 2 cups coffee with sugar and international delights creamer, a large noosa yogurt. Don't usually bother with the yogurt but I knew I was going to wegman's and didn't want to overdo it. 

As I got back from wegman's I destroyed a huge thing of shrimp cocktail.  We'll call that lunch I guess.

But then I was picking at all the good stuff in the fridge and ate some roast beef cold cuts like a ####### animal. No reason except I was in fat guy mode and there was food. Continued on to eat two pieces of their pre made quesadilla.

But I still had my lazy lobster and didn't want it to go to waste. So I started up a frying pan, sauteed a little butter, grilled a hot dog bun and grilled the lobster in butter (not as big a fan of the mayonaise kind).

I did my yoga, but that doesnt burn much. I didnt do my ab workout or anything extra. I did a million chores but don't count those calories even though I was pretty active. I tried to run but got interrupted after 23 minutes because my son wanted me to know that we have cookies in the house and he would like me to know that and did i know their were cookies. He got one. I didn't.  I had a gatorade instead. 

I didn't deprive myself at all. This didn't take some huge commitment on my part, I ate awesome food all day. 

Total calories - 1841 for food minus 555 for exercise. I still have some left over if I want a glass or two of wine, but I'm going to make a huge bowl of broccoli instead because #### I need some kind of vegetable. Shrimp was just a couple hundred calories. The quesadillas were 510. The roast beef 120 for like 4 oz of just om nom nom idiocy. The lobster roll was under 300 and it was fn awesome. 

You don't need to GAF about washboard abs. You need to stop damaging your body and acting like it's funny. You're in your early 40s. Do you think it gets easier in your late 40s? Or 50s or 60s?  

 
ALERT:  partial GAF, apparently equates to 14 ####### miles.  I, apparently, don’t GAF.  Like ever

With you on this, though I would not turn down a mayo-based one, either.

My problem isn't even eating.  I think I do a good job of controlling myself there.  And I definitely do a good job with exercise.  I just drink too much.  Way too much.  And I don't get nearly enough sleep.

hey man i agree i was like that and then i almost died from a heart attack look there are about a million reasons that you or anyone else should want to emulate the old swcer such as loving the song brandy by looking glass or following the path of the brohan but the heart attack and diet thing is not one of them take that to the i am being serious it is a hell of a thing to look at your kids on a video call from the hospital see them crying and know that you could have should have would have changed it all if you could bank bromigo
