Otis fad diet thread — yoga, fasting, and kevzilla walking on🚶‍♂️ (4 Viewers)

Halo Top... and yes, it's good
So a pint of this stuff has 48% of my protein, 48% of my fiber and only 240 calories and it tastes good.  What's the catch?   Last time something sounded this good, I got anal leakage.  Yeah, I'm talking about you wow potato chips.

I find it incredibly sweet, so can only have one serving (ya...a good thing).  Certain flavors aren't great but some are rather good.

Letting a little loose tonight.  Half a chicken cutlet (the crispy/fried kind), egg salad sandwich on whole wheat.  Then had a handful of chips and a quarter pint of Halo Top Mint Chip.  Now cruising into a glass of red.  It's the weekend, baby.

But I won't go nuts.  It'll be a reasonable spinout tonight.  Hope to similarly maintain through the weekend.

what happened to the salad for lunch and healthy dinner being easy during the week?

Thursday night is basically the weekend around here.  And we started the weekend as early, as Mrs. O and I just have tonight and Friday night till Otis has to leave town.  Again, if I go to 2000 calories tonight, it's all good.  But honestly, I'm stuffed.  There are two more huge chicken cutlets in the fridge and they look amazing, and normally I'd attack them.  I'm just sipping this wine slowly.

Today is my second (and last) "fast" day for the week. Had a protein shake in the morning, and teriyaki broccoli with smoked Gouda flavored tricuits and some dry fiber cereal for lunch. All together about 700-800 calories. Was planning on a small dinner, but got busy doing other stuff. Decided to just wait until morning.

On a whim, I weighed myself just now, and the scaled read 200.0.

Feel like I'm gonna break 200 tomorrow!

Does anyone have an awesome guacamole recipe to share?

I've been making it frequently, and while I'm moderately pleased, I feel it is somewhat lacking something.

- Avocados

- Tomato

- Jalapeno

- Fresh squeezed lime

- Salt

- Cilantro

What am I missing?
More salt. And be careful not to overadd the lime juice.

FYI.  This is what my son had that constituted the best meal he ever ate:

"It started with amuse bouches of a quail egg, escargots, rabbit mousse and parsley ham. The first course was a scallop and foie gras ravioli with a truffle scented cream sauce. Second course was fish that was cooked under a heat lamp for 15 minutes so it was just cooked, it had a curry sauce and a roasted carrot. Third course was venison with a brown jus, black currants and a celeriac gratin. Fourth course for me was a caramelized apple roll up with an apple sorbet, caramel chips and a mousse of some sort. Then post meal little mignardize of local produce and chocolates. There was also a post meal drink of apple juice and a cassis mousse."

Sorry if this isn't an appropriate post in a weight loss thread.  LOL
Holy ####! That's exactly what I made last night, except I used pear nectar in the post meal drink

So these so called easy days are just mon-wed.   That's more consistent with the results then.

Let's be honest, you're just mad that Otis is so good at what he does, that he can eat whatever, get lit up, and still lose more weight per week than is even allowed in the MFP settings.

Otis: Still 150% after all these years

Tuna melt again... Big fan

Having a hard time reaching 1000 calories/day this week. You guys should probably just quit now

Grilled Shrimp, Green Beans and tossed salad for lunch

Fish tacos (grilled basa on low carb tortillas with pico and avocado with a dab of sour cream)

California Sauvignon Blanc opened.

It did a good job making me not want to eat. Most of that sounds not good.

I'm conserving calories by drinking Irish Stouts tonight. Always the right move for beer drinkers. There's a local irish stout here that's just about in line with those awful Coors/Bud/Miller Lite's in terms of calories (of course Guinness is too but this one's better).

Don't know what that egg salad sandwich is gonna do for your diet prospects.  Pretty much know what it's going to do for Mrs. Otis' dutch oven prospects

Sounds awesome.

I am going to try this.  I do not crave sweets too often, but if it's only 240 calories a pint, might be a nice treat once in a while.
Had potatoes and baked chicken for dinner.

Halotop vanilla for a snack later.  Was really good and I was still 300 calories below my goal for the day.  This will be a great snack from time to time.

194.8 again this morning.  Man I hope I can break through into the 193s this weekend.  I feel like this is literally a wall I need to bust through.  Haven't been able to do it yet.  Hitting the gym tonight, then going to see a concert later.

You mean "figuratively" right?

I'm the only one doing a pull/back routine on a Friday watching people stare at the flat bench like Trump looking at some KFC.

Also, fun fact. I asked one of the gym lackeys how they know when resolutioners are gone. Said that in January they have 2x the water usage of any other month.  The rest of the year is pretty much the same with December down a bit, but January water bill basically tells them how many people will be there at the end of the year and if they need to do any promotions in the spring.

It's amazing how many people at the gym stand around and stare at their phones. I think most of them could turn an hour workout into  30 minutes if they put the phone down.

After a slight uptick, back down to a new low today (234.0 - down 15.6 in 23 days). Have 9 days till superbowl sunday and goal of 4 more pounds down seems out of reach but we shall see. May do taters Sun>Wed next week as a jump start.

Going out Saturday night with a buddy but will avoid food issues and will stick to light beer and bourbon. Lot of yard work to do that morning and a run should help mitigate the issues from that night.

Next Thursday night have dinner at one of the nicest restaurants in town (Flight) followed by 4th row seats at a Garth Brooks show. That will be interesting.

IF I reach my 4lb goal for Sunday (marking about 20lbs in 5 weeks), I've agreed to reward myself with a moderate cheat day with some wings and such mixed in with otherwise healthy options. We shall see if I get there.

I started using JEFIT to structure my workouts.  It has defined rest times.  There are a few other apps out there like it, but JEFIT can manage just about anything.  I think it helps me actually get thru my workouts a bit faster as it times them and tells you how much time you used over the alloted rest time.   Plus it's a little more structured than other apps and helps me with the math i.e. 135x14 > 145x8 and so on when I'm going for high/low rep splits on the same exercise.  That #### I can't manage in my head.
