Otis fad diet thread — yoga, fasting, and kevzilla walking on🚶‍♂️ (1 Viewer)

As for myself, been feeling under the weather the last few days so I haven't visited the iron temple for almost a week.  Feeling better today though so back at it.  I still need to conquer this stupid snacking at work I find myself doing.  Never done it before this new gig and it's irritating me to no end.

Got a high school and college graduation at the end of May so JD needs to get back to his usual svelte self to make the college girls and Milfs swoon as usual.

Missed my weigh-in this week.  Looks like @Sand has missed it for 3 weeks.  Weighed in this morning and I'm at 240 or up 4 pounds.  That's a little bit deceiving as I'm an evening weigh-in person and weighed after coffee and prior to dump.  Actually I haven't dumped for a couple of days.

I'll get it in tonight.  Sorry if I missed previous ones.

I'm not following any diet rules but my fear is definitely repeating what I've done in the past - lose a bunch and then regain.  The problem is despite all the good information in this thread I don't think anyone has shown what to do.  I do think part of my maintenance will be IF - what I've read makes sense and I don't see how it could be harmful.  I will also add more carbs back but only in the form or fruit/veggies/beans.

What are your maintenance plans?
Simple. Once you get to a certain weight/body type you like.....you need to continue what you did to get there. The work doesn't end once you get to a certain point.

That's why I'm a big proponent of tracking your calories/macros/IIFYM. It's the one "diet" that features all food groups, so it can be sustained as long as people have discipline.

Good news.. I lost 8 pounds in the first 2 weeks.

Good news.. I haven't put any back on.

Bad news.. I haven't lost anymore either.
That's great.  Seriously.  In a normal year you'd probably be up 1-2 pounds at this point.  If you're 50 pounds overweight and managed 8 pounds a year you'd be there in 6 years.  I know that doesn't sound all that great that way, but it's a whole lot better than being 60 pounds overweight in 6 years.

As someone who has kept almost 100 lbs off for 7 or so years at this point.  Try and clean up your diet somewhat.  It doesn't have to be perfect.  But add some more veggies, cut some junk food and do your best to keep portions reasonable.  You don't have to be perfect with diet just better than you used to be.  And add exercise.  It doesn't have to be major either.  A walk once a day doesn't sound like much but it's good for you and will make it harder to gain weight.  Taking stairs/parking further from the store/going to the gym regularly/picking up an active hobby/getting a dog and walking with them daily.  There are a lot of ways to increase exercise without it being that tough.  And they don't require doing an hour of hardcore bootcamp each morning.  Unless you enjoy that.  Then by all means that's great for you.

Amazon subscribe and save is uusally the cheapest.
It keeps you on schedule as well.   You learn the hard way if you start skipping shakes.    Try pounding a half a tub of this in one night when the new container shows up.   The next morning is not a pretty site.

Just the simple gold standard natural. Flavor wise I change it up but usually go back to double chocolate.
I bought a tub of Dynatize Iso 100 last week. I bought the birthday cake flavor and like it a lot.  It mixes really well with water and tastes great.

Did you see the reviews on Amazon about shipments of that stuff being filled with insects. :X

Not having a great week.  Eating pretty good but had a few meals that were out of range this week.  Was stuck at home on Tuesday and Wednesday with the storm so that made things difficult.  Back on track today.  Staying even for the week would be great.

WTF.  I've been not great for the last almost two weeks.  Woke up this morning at 224.8, near by recent low.  Who knew.

Anyway, had a burger and two beers at a work lunch.  But I feel good about not having lost much progress.  Came really close to getting up this morning before 6 to workout, but was up several hours unable to sleep and had to feed the baby at 5, so basically needed that 5:30-7:30 stretch to function today.  Maybe tomorrow....

Two weeks left ladies.

LET'S GO!!
I'm heading to Vegas next week with some buddies for March Madness. I don't want to drink bourbon all day and night, so it looks like the lowest carb beer I can find is Bud Select and Mic Ultra. I guess that's what I'm stuck with so I don't totally gain right at the end...

guinness

absolutely crushed legs and abs today  :flex:

then, had 4 sweet sweet stouts tonight with a giant portion of home made cornbeef and cabbage.

i'll knock out some nasty ### cardio tomorrow to burn this deliciousness off.  and, i get to try culdeus' recommendation on the protein powder as well.  hopefully, no bugs.  or they're at least ground up fine enough, that i can't tell

go get it ladies, #### ain't free.

guinness
Guinness Extra Stout - 176 calories, 14 g. carbs

Guiness Draught - 127 calories, 10 g. carbs

Mich Ultra - 95 calories, 2.6 g. carbs

Bud Select - 55 calories, 1.9 g. carbs

As much as I like Guinness, 10 will get me 100 carbs, where 10 bud selects will get me about 20.

True, the only flaw is that Bud Select is urine removed from a horse's corpse, filtered in Al Bundy's used underwear.

Boys, if Otis is up lifting weights and doing the elliptical before 6am on a Sunday, none of you have any excuse.

What if you happened to be up all night with your son at a bowling tournament that began at 2:00am (not a typo!)?

Left at midnight and just walked in the door.  I'm exhausted.

I'm the one that likes the insect infested protein powder.  Culdus prefers insect-free protein powder.  Wimp.

Man, I haven't worked out in so long.  Did like a half hour of bro circuit training -- ellipital--curls--shoulder raises--pushups -- and nearly vomited at the end.  I have become so, so soft.

Well, today's the day to start becoming unsoft again ??

197.8 this AM. Down another 2. And it's been simple. I'm just not hungry at all, and when I am, I eat steak and eggs and cheese and bacon. I really think I'm going to stick with this low carb thing for a long time. I love eating this way. I'll start to add in some berries at some point, because I do like fruit.

In another few weeks I'm going to get a blood panel done to see where I'm at with things. If all looks good, full steam ahead for me.

Nice work GB - I would suggest throwing in some green veggies if you can.  If you don't like them then maybe do some juicing?  You want to get some fiber in  - :toilet:

Just to make @AAABatteries happy I'm going to try this no/low carb thing starting tomorrow.  If' I feel like #### or if I don't lose weight or if I have issues ####ting I'm going to be going insane ITT.  Can I lift and cardio while doing this stupid no/low carb thing?
