i deserve it.
Stay strong brotherSurrounded by tons of kids and candy all day. I drank a little light beer and had some mac and cheese. But not a smidge of candy.
Ha! Resolutions are a wreck. Actually, I may have turned a corner. Started hitting the gym three weeks ago and set the beer aside two weeks ago; sleep has improved significantly. Currently my philosophy is to always be leaning into good habits.Yo - @Mister CIA - please see this post for context on why I @'d you
How are your resolutions going? I'm specifically interested in your fasting you were doing - how is that going?
Yeah...I'm not much into sweets so have had no candy, but due to Halloween traditions I have had: (1) nearly a bottle of wine (by myself), (2) 1/4 of a very oily 14" pepperoni pizza, and (3) 1/3 of an order of potato skins. This is not a good day. ####.Surrounded by tons of kids and candy all day. I drank a little light beer and had some mac and cheese. But not a smidge of candy.
Sorry the day is bad - but I hope only irt to keeping the diet.Yeah...I'm not much into sweets so have had no candy, but due to Halloween traditions I have had: (1) nearly a bottle of wine (by myself), (2) 1/4 of a very oily 14" pepperoni pizza, and (3) 1/3 of an order of potato skins. Based on your recent results, I wouldn't sweat it. Just like one good day doesn't undo a bunch of bad days, the inverse holds true as well.Yeah...I'm not much into sweets so have had no candy, but due to Halloween traditions I have had: (1) nearly a bottle of wine (by myself), (2) 1/4 of a very oily 14" pepperoni pizza, and (3) 1/3 of an order of potato skins. I appreciate your support and hope you’re right.Based on your recent results, I wouldn't sweat it. Just like one good day doesn't undo a bunch of bad days, the inverse holds true as well.
Just get right back to what you've been doing for weeks. Enjoy today.
I don't even know you anymore....Bummed not to be able to run this morning. My knee has just been so sore the past couple days. I got up at 5 to test it out, hoping the pain would be gone, but no dice.
Probably not great that I ran on it Wednesday despite the pain, and probably stupid that the day before that, despite pain, I did leg day, including squats, leg press, etc.
So I’ll give it a few days. Let the knee heal a bit, and the ankle on that same leg could use a rest too. Was really starting to enjoy the running, so hoping I can get back to it after the weekend.
I knew I was going to be a ####### last night, so I skipped dinner and just ate a small portion of mac and cheese once getting back from trick or treating. Had a pour of Jameson 18 year at the neighbor's before we headed out, at the 7 pm pit stop, and a capper at the end of the night. Good group of kids last night - like many of you, winds were howling, temps falling, and stuff falling from the sky...and they still made it to 8, with only one of them hitting any sorta wall.Surrounded by tons of kids and candy all day. I drank a little light beer and had some mac and cheese. But not a smidge of candy.
Lazy keto. I've had some good days and some bad. Still doing the 44 hour fast Sunday after dinner until Tuesday dinner. All that being said, after my initial 15lb drop, I'm just holding steady. Still trying@Keerock - @pantherclub - @belljr - @shadyridr

Bell/Shady - how YOU doing?
Whats the budget?Any suggestions on treadmills for the house?
Sole or Pro-Form any good? Which one is better?
brohan i like barbecue a lot and associated with that is a love of canned grean beans also they remind me of my mom and childhood so its a good thing for me and it works from a healthy eating versus noodles and bread standpoint it probably doesnt work for everyone but everyone should find a parallell to get rid of the dead calories that come in stuff like noodles and rice and so on that in most instances we just eat as a delivery vehicle for other stuff anyhow take that to the bank brochachoMy take is switch to fresh green beansi have substituted canned green beans for noodles i know that is not everyones thing but it saves me a ton of calories every day so what is your can o greener beaners take that to the bank brohans

During my day yesterday I was exposed to and offered cookies, cupcakes, ice cream cake, and of course a multitude of candy. I eschewed it all. Not a bite, not a taste, not a bit of backsliding. Yeah - honestly I have a harder time with Halloween than Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is basically a one day kind of thing in our family. There's sometimes leftovers but it's not a week long thing and I can just fill up on meat and vegetables if I want. Halloween we always buy candy a few days to week early and then there's candy laying around for the next week or so. I try to make the kids keep it in their rooms - out of sight out of mind. Christmas is also hard for me because that's more of a 5-7 day thing - multiple get togethers, Xmas cookies, lots of drinking.During my day yesterday I was exposed to and offered cookies, cupcakes, ice cream cake, and of course a multitude of candy. Next challenge, Thanksgiving. Frankly there are healthyish options along with the calorie bombs, so should not be problematic.
The time period from Oct 20 to Jan 5 has always been tough for me to maintain a healthy diet. I always gain a few pounds. This year I made a push to lose a couple of pounds by Halloween and want to keep the weight gain to 2-3 pounds throughout this challenging time period.AAABatteries said:Yeah - honestly I have a harder time with Halloween than Thanksgiving. One challenge at a time. I hear you though, there will be candy around my home for quite some time. Of curse, with my wife and daughter there always is. Those darn skinnies can gobble it by the pound and never gain an ounce.AAABatteries said:Yeah - honestly I have a harder time with Halloween than Thanksgiving. Simply maintain during this time frame is a victory as most will not. Still, I hope to make minor headway, but only minor. It will be a challenge. Curious where Oct. 20th comes from - is that a birthday for you or another family member? Or is that just when the Halloween candy starts being brought home or put out at work? The time period from Oct 20 to Jan 5 has always been tough for me to maintain a healthy diet. This is surprising!Couple of days off the rails and in a bit of a tailspin here. This last week basically a wash. Frustrating.
Stay the course. Don’t get down on yourself. eat well this weekend. Nothing crazy, and get some exercise.Couple of days off the rails and in a bit of a tailspin here. This last week basically a wash. Frustrating.
How long's the walk to Mexico? That should help right....Just did my weekly walk to the farmers market. It's only about three miles roundtrip, but includes going up and down some very large hills. Plus I come home with a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables to fill our kitchen rather than a bunch of garbage. I love the farmers market! Unfortunately, it only goes through the end of December before starting up again in April, so for three months I'll be buying stuff from Mexico, I guess.
My point here is, every little bit helps. Even just get out and take a walk, Oats. It'll make you feel better and get you over the "I messed up" hump.
A month off of exercise during Thanksgiving is likely going to end poorly. Take a couple days off and see how it feels. If it still hurts, hop on the elliptical.Tried going for a slow jog alongside my daughter bike riding. Immediately the knee and ankle were killing me. I ran about 20 feet and walked the rest of the way. Ugh. I’ve obviously overdone it.
Thinking about maybe just passing on the gym and running for a few weeks and just focusing 100% on diet/restricting calories and getting sleep and rest. If I do that for a month and lose 10lbs, I can come back healed and lighter and leaner with a little less stress on the joints, and then when I get back to the gym and try running again I’ll be ready to get after it.
If you still aren't eating on Mondays, you should have enough energy for a 45 minute walk around the block Monday morning. Don't push it, but keep moving and inyour routine of doing something.Tried going for a slow jog alongside my daughter bike riding. Immediately the knee and ankle were killing me. Perhaps consider swimming. Great rehab exercise program. Burns plenty of calories and no stress on joints.Tried going for a slow jog alongside my daughter bike riding. Hope your wife is ok GB. You are doing great - stick with it!I ate too much and too frequently this weekend, but I did eat clean. Furnace out, pipe burst, and car crash by wife had me off my exercise schedule, a bit. Back at it today.
Wife and daughter are fine. Car, not so much. Insurance headaches ahead.Hope your wife is ok GB. You are doing great - stick with it!
That’s a great idea actually. Maybe I’ll just keep getting up at my same morning routine time, but rather than lifting weights (I don’t need GAINZ right now anyway, quite the opposite) or trying to jog through pain, I’ll just brisk walk for 45 mins. Absolutely. You need to do SOMETHING. So it's that or the elliptical. That’s a great idea actually. rare moment of non bs from the ole swcer here i have had pretty significant surgery on my hips which included both of my hips replaced and it was a real big chore to learn to walk let alone jog again the big deal for me was getting my leg muscles back in shape it took a while to get them from atrophy to ready to go and i did it by just starting at 2 then 3 then three point five on the treadmill and then finally after a few months of that breaking in to a light jog at about four and it hurt every step of the way and that was with a physical therapist all i am saying is at least for me it was more than just weight loss i needed to get my legs back in to fighting shape slowly too take that to the bank brohanTried going for a slow jog alongside my daughter bike riding. I take it to work and let my coworkers pack on the pounds, don't take that to the credit union, muchacho.hey brohans i hope that it is going well and i know this may be hard but my suggestion is just get rid of any haloween candy you have left over take it to work or just trash it but do not leave that temptation around to ruin your next week of working out take that to the bank brochachos
I have likely told this story before but I lost 20 pounds by cutting pasta and bread intake drastically while taking brisk 45-60 minute walks daily. Eat less. Move more. Lose weight. Good luck. That’s a great idea actually.
