Got home after a long day of work. Sweated my way through putting together the patio set. What a PIA. But it came together OK. Also we did our first BBQing. The bacon-wrapped asparagus came out WAY better than in the oven. The turkey burgers with feta cheese in them were dried out. I'll need to work on that. Regular burgers next time...

Mrs. TF and I are contemplating the same set.How long did it take to put together? Can you post some pics? Thx

Was a PIA to put together, but not the end of the world. Most of the work was in pulling off all the packing covering. The actually building was fairly painless. Maybe took me a couple hours last night. Quality seems good, everything is HEAVY. Chairs are comfortable, table decent. We still need to get an umbrella. All in all, we're very happy with it so far. I'll take some more pics for you tonight.

I suspect pretty quickly. I'm not sure what they are made out of or what you call the material, but it is thin and doesn't feel like something that will retain much moisture. Seems like you could wipe it off and it would dry fairly quickly.I posted a pic of this set up above here in the last page or so, not sure if you saw that yet. It captures it pretty well.We also bought based on the favorable reviews online. Be prepared for it being heavy as hell, but it's worth it for what seems like pretty good quality.

Am I the only one that really likes that wood ceiling?

I think the problem with it is that it's a bit too "country" for our tastes. The color and look of the wood is very country kitchen/farmhouse/rooster decorations everywhere. That's just not our shtick. I'm not opposed to "beautiful hardwood" ceilings. And maybe even a dark stain would look better on it. But a dark ceiling is meh, and I think painted white the same color as the trim will look great, especially since it will have some detail/beading.

My wife just called and she's a little upset. There are these strange flying creatures in the trees near our house. She says they look like they're made of feathers or something. And they chirp and stuff. A neighbor told her that they were called 'burrs' or 'burds' or something like that. Should call someone and have them removed? I called a burr guy and he said he'd get rid of them for only $5k.

Took the day from work today. Sitting out back at the table, under the shade of these wonderful wonderful trees, having a drink, plugging away at the laptop on some work stuff. Cool breezes, birds chirping everywhere. Awesome weather in NY today and this weekend. I still hate all the damn bugs, but I plan to pick up about 40 gallons worth of citronella candle today so that tonight is a bit more bug free. But otherwise, this is totally rad. Looking forward to doing some grilling this weekend and soaking in this glory some more.

This strange new suburban life is wonderful.

Still not as good as the city, but it has its moments. I've found that Cutter Bug Free Backyard spray works better than citronella.

Yep. I have bushes by our patio that are a magnet for spiders. That Cutter stuff keeps them away for 4-6 weeks. Helps with 'squitos too.

Spend one evening outside with a thermacell unit running and I guarantee you'll never mess around with all that stuff again. I've bowhunted in southern Georgia in early September with swarms of bugs and Mosquitos around me and a thermacell next to me. Not one bite and it clears the area. We use one all summer long on our back deck and never have a problem. All friends/neighbors who come to our house end up buying them as well. They work

Can you recommend one? I'm looking and only see one that goes on your belt and a lantern looking one.

My yard becomes inhabitable once the summer really kicks in.

My faith has been restored, but that tv wall doesn't fit. And I agree about centering the outlets. Good looking joint overall.
