Green's knee injury not serious, 'just swelling'

Texans running back Ahman Green underwent an MRI on his knee and said the team had good news.

"It's nothing bad," Green said, "just swelling. I'm taking it one day at a time."

Green injured his left knee Sept. 16 against the Carolina Panthers. He tried to play through the pain Sunday against the Colts, but left the game at the start of the second quarter.

Green, 30, said he does not know if he will be able to play against Atlanta this week.

Holy crap this is almost off the front page already.

Is Ahman really that much of a JAG to most of you? :tfp:

bump

I drafted Green and recently picked up Dayne on the WW. Now wondering who the heck will be seeing carries for the next few weeks. I don't think Gado is any kind of answer (even for one or two games).

Either is Dayne, I still can't believe he hangs on in this league. He is terrible.I would bet Gado gets the go here, glad Ahman seems alright. I need him, but it looks like Norwood will have to be my #2 this week.McKinney's loss on the OL is also a big blow for the Texans.

Good luck with that one. Norwood as your 3 and Green as your 2? How deep is your league???

why does that sound odd to you? In a 12 team league, someone drafting RB/WR/WR in the first 3 roundscould typically have landed Ahman and Norwood in rounds 4 and 5. That was a common strategy thatfolks were talking about in the pre-season since many (myself included) felt that the value at RB afterthe first dozen or so RBs were gone was so even that you might as well go WR/WR or WR/QB in rounds 2/3and grab Ahman Green later and end up with a potential top 20 RB in the 5th.Signed,Ahman Green Owner

Texans :: RB

Texans RB Green Improving

Dale Robertson, Houston Chronicle -

Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak reiterated that he'll be surprised if tailback Ahman Green (bruised knee) can play against the Falcons on Sunday - "it'll just be a bonus" - but Green hasn't yet fully conceded the point. "I'll know when I wake up in the morning that day," he said. "But everything is getting better because I'm not pounding on it, and I'm getting treatment. The swelling has gone down."

It's about scoring in ouir FF leaugesAnd last year Dayne was good enough to score alot of points at the end of the season against weak teams. He is good enough to do the same this year.Don't let your presuppositions get in your way of winning.

Today's Houston Chronicle reports that Ahman Green will be out today, but that Dayne continues to have bruised ribs, so it may be a RBBC between Dayne and Gado.

I'm trying to read the Houston papers online to confirm that Green is out. Do you have a link?

The Texans have good news and bad news. The good news is that Ron Dayne will play. He's still got sore ribs, and the Falcons will zero in on his ribs every chance they get.
REALLY? Mort just said he is OUT on ESPN NFL Countdown.
Wait..I just saw Mort say that GREEN is out, not Dayne. Didn't I? I'm pretty sure...(Then Berry said that Dayne is a great sleeper pick, for whatever thats worth)

Dayne is out now?
Sounds like misinformation was quoted.
VERY bad posting on my part; SORRY. What Mort said was expect a healthy dose of Dayne and Gado as Green is out. :bag:

Exactly. Lots of byes this week so it's Thunder or Edge vs the Steelers. I think Edge is one of the few backs to rush over 100 against the Steelers in the last few years - but that was when he was with the Colts.
