Owens to be released by 4 p.m. (1 Viewer)

How do you think it will be the Giants? They are not under the cap enough to sign TO. He will go to where he will make the most $$, revenge being the last thing on his mind.

This Giants fan doesn't want him.

I agree he'll follow the money but I think revenge will play a large factor. With an ego like his, how could it not?

Be kinda cool if the Bears came up and made a surprise play. They haven't exactly been making a huge splash in free agency...

Moose and T.O. Yep, I could live with that. And Rex would have no more excuses (save for the perennial season-ending injury).

The Giants?

With their organizational philosophy, their coach and their young QB - not to mention the NY Media - I see this having as much chance as TO not causing a commotion down the line.

Whatever team gets him better win it all this year, cause next year the honeymoon is over. We see what happens then.

T.O wil be wearing the same star on his helmet that he made a mockery of a few years back. The perfect match he gets to play against the eagles 2 times a year that has to be on his mind. Look at Keyshawn's situation from before he was a disgruntled player and look at the job the Cowboy's management did with him. Same will happen with T.O.

Awesome. Bill retires after this year and then you have TO vs. Jerry Jones. Would love to see him implode yet another division rival.

Eh, not so fast, Sparky. Keyshawn repeatedly said the only coach he'd ever play for is Bill Parcells. Keyshawn and TO are completely different people. I don't think TO could handle Parcells.

I'd also love to see him in a Chiefs uniform, although it wouldn't really be fair.
KC is the best place for him. He's crazy if he goes anywhere else. I just can't imagine coaches or players putting up with his sh esp Dallas. Parcells rides his stars in TC. I can't see Owens tolerating it and understanding it'll make him better.

Parcells also lets his stars slide and get away with more. LT...

LT was the exception. Parcells has spoken plenty about it, wonderring if he was harder on him etc. That won't happen again

Keyshawn w/ the jets

The problem is Keyshawn may be released. He'd probably re-sign if TO isn't there, but if he sees the team wants TO, I'd think Keyshawn would be gone.

How would Key like working with Herm?

Even more important, LT was a MADMAN off the field, and he would be late to meetings and whatnot, but the guy was ALWAYS a team player. The guy was ALWAYS a good teamate (from what I know at least). Was NEVER a divisive force in the club house. LT was a player that built up his fellow teammates and was a centerpiece to building a team and a franchise. TO is a player that tears them his fellow players down, and with them a franchise.

Wouldnt SD be an interesting destination ...
Reading this thread and others this morning, I was thinking the same thing. They have the $, and could use a #1 WR. The only thing that doesn't make perfect sense is that they will be trying to groom a new QB and may not want the distraction.

More and more, I think we could get him in KC.....having Herman Edwards here is the main reason I think it will happen. I think Edwards can relate to him on a level that Reid, Parcells, Shanahan cant.

And if you notice KC is now under the cap by several mission but being VERY quiet so far.....only guys in are Will Allen and ROcky Bernard. The rumors around CK are that they have two main targets and they have tunnel vision on Owens and CB Ty Law.

Chief's announced that Shields redid his deal today.http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/14092119.htm

No terms disclosed but more cap room if they are going after him.

Dallas hasn't made a big splash in free agency like Jerry Jones said they would, don't be surprised if JJ overpays for Owens.

:goodposting: Really great insight here. Not until I read your post did I realize that Dallas appears to be waiting for something or somebody to come available. Not sure if that would be T.O., but it is certainly looking that way.

Ugh. LJ owner here. I sure hope KC doesn't go after this clown. He'd steal TD's for sure and would disrupt everything.Please...no.....!
As a Raider's fan, :excited: . Kick our butts again this year, and then K.C. can become the doormats of the AFC West for a while. 'Till Davis is gone, I'm just rooting for another team in the div. to be worse than us!

The Boys will have themselves T.O and a kicker by the weekend.
IF the 'boys can address the OL, and give Bledsoe time to throw, this would be a great signing. If Bledsoe can't stay upright...

I'm amazed at how many people think Owens is some type of team crippling divisive influence.

There's a reason the 49ers were 28-17 with him as their #1, and are 5-24 without him.

There's a reason the Eagles are 17-4 with him, and 14-13 without him, in the last three years. There's a reason the Eagles were 4-3 with him, and 2-7 without him, in 2005. There's a reason the Eagles clinched a first round bye earlier than any other team in history and were 13-1 when he got injured in 2004, and almost won the Superbowl on the back of his gutsy performance.

Owens makes a bad team good, and a good team great.

And I would gladly take him on the Patriots. Give Brady his Rice.

I suspect 31 teams to be throwing a boatload of money at him this evening then.
