There's no point in being luke-warm. It's what I believe. I've written him off and moved on. If I owned him in a dynasty I would try to see if anyone wanted him and get anything of value for him. If I couldn't move him I would drop him. I could be wrong, and if so, that's fine. If someone thinks he definitely will be a fantasy force down the road, more power to them - say so and explain why. People tend to hold onto guys too long and I would rather take a shot on someone else. I feel I'm more likely to be right than wrong about this one.
I tend to believe people cut bait to quickly on players rather than holding on to them too long, especially WRs. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people drop WR prospects because they don't produce their first year. f I love to pickup these guys after a couple of years and be rewarded for doing so.
Good luck with that on him. IMO, he's had his shot and is now WW material. He's been by-passed on the roster talent-wise. THe best he could ever hope for would to be the #3 target on his team, but that would take a lot to happen. As such he'll probably be the 6th option, (after Wayne, Clark, Garcon, Collie, and Addai). He's still not healthy. And again, I think he was overrated from the get-go. Now, if you're targeting young guys who really haven't had a shot. Guys who were behind someone else, a bit slow to learn etc. There are plenty of examples of these types out there. Guys who have great talent, are healthy, but just haven't emerged yet- that's a different story. J. Charles, Austin Miles and Kevin Kolb are guys I can think of off the top of my head who were cut in one of my dynasties too early due to roster-space issues, and then snatched up later.
I could be wrong about Gonzalez, but I doubt it. And I can live with myself if I'm wrong. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing Garcon sooner in that league. But you only have so many roster spots. Again, thinking ahead and moving on and grabbing a Garcon is a good idea, but holding onto Gonzalez is not.
