If you like p90x i don't think you will care for 90x3. I didn't.

Better program if you want to do a beachbody one is body beast imo.
While that program looks good, I have no weights besides two 25 pound dumbbells.

 
My grad school finishes this Sunday. I am going to implement a combo of P90 and kettle bells...where I sub in the kettle bells for pull ups (my basement has poor door frames for what's needed). I have done the p90 cycle twice and looking to drop the 20 lbs I've gained from two kids (each under 3) and school (plus work) over the past couple of years.

 
My grad school finishes this Sunday. I am going to implement a combo of P90 and kettle bells...where I sub in the kettle bells for pull ups (my basement has poor door frames for what's needed). I have done the p90 cycle twice and looking to drop the 20 lbs I've gained from two kids (each under 3) and school (plus work) over the past couple of years.
I liked p90x, the 30 minutes of 3 is very tempting as some of the last few weeks get pretty lengthy excercises in P90X. I might just start in on P90X as I already have it.

I have been running in the mornings three days a week so p90x would be my evening workout routine. Also have insanity, which I did like, but would rather have some muscle gain than just straight fat loss. And While I could do it 3 days a week as cardio, I really like running.

If you are looking for 30 minutes...In p90 Tony mentions a maintenance plan where you just do the first half of the workouts which would be about 30 minutes if you include ab ripper.

I'm not sure what this means. If you saw little change after 45 days, you were eating like a horse or not putting much effort into the workout. Insanity kicks your ###.

Problem is, I am not looking for maintenance. p90x3 supposedly kicks your ### with intensity, basically the same moves, less rest, some variation thrown in. Last time I did p90x I actually skipped the rest periods during the workout.

Skipped the rest periods? There was like 1 minute of rest after 3 exercises. You need to rest your muscles at least a little during your workout or you'll never get the maximum benefit from the workout.

p90x3 to me has far too many disposable workouts and way too many moves that are just stupid for the sake of being stupid. P90x had some dumb workouts but you could easily skip them and compress the program down by 2-3 weeks.

How did you do P90x with just 2 20 pound dumbbells?
doesn't require much weight. I also have the pull-up bar. For the exercises that required more weight, I would combine the weights onto one barbell to get up to 50 lbs for football throws and stuff like that.

Yes, and at a certain point you hit your limit.

 
If you have limited equipment then I really think you just do one of the insanity style stuff. I can't really see how you can do some of the weight ones without an adjustable set of dbs.

On that note. I've done Focus T25. Some of those workouts incorporate dumbells and/or resistance bands. Shawn T shows the form with dumbells, then switches to the person working the bands. So in leiu of a fulls set of adjustable dumbells, you could get a couple different bands.

I do have some bands already. Never used them but got them cheap at a fitness store closing.
