Packer/Bear week used to be fun around here (1 Viewer)

They can't seem to both be good in the same year.

My most prominent memories of Bears-Packers:

1. Bears block field goal as time expires the week of Walter Payton's death in 1999 and win 14-13 in Lambeau.

2. Charles Martin, with hit list towel tucked into his pants, body slams Jim McMahon in 1986 well, well after the end of a play, separating his shoulder.

3. Another 14-13 game in Lambeau, this time with the Pack on the winning side as the Majik Man Don Majkowski throws game winning TD initially ruled an illegal forward pass and overturned on replay.

4. Favre tosses 99-yard TD to Robert Brooks, toasting Donnell Woolford on third down on MNF in 1995.

5. Fridge meet Cumby; Cumby, Fridge.

I wish both teams would be elite at the same time, too.

Hasn't seemed to happen for a while now.

BTW, Majkowski was over the line.

man, i was at that game - it was awesome! and no, majik wasn't over the line. :popcorn:bears still suck. it will be fun to see them end up 6-10 this year.

It'll be a great game to watch on Sunday night.

Scares the heck out of me as a Packer fan though.

Desperate team up against the wall versus a young team that has just learned how to gain momentum and create wins out of it.

We'll see. I'm still waiting for the Green Bay defense to come up with a few more bigger plays.

To quote John Madden:

"The Packers should have the edge because they have Brett Favre. And when You have Brett Favre, you have Brett Farve, which beats not having Brett Favre. The Bears don't have Brett Favre, which means they don't have a Brett Favre. And as you know, the league needs more Brett Favre."

As long as Griese doesn't impersonate Rex and throw 3 picks, Benson hangs onto the ball, Berrian doesn't drop five passes and the secondary can get healthy fast and Ron Turner doesn't crap down his pants with his play calling....

Though the Bears have played well up in Green Bay over the past few season....

But Favre is playing like it's the mid 90's again....

Oy! What a long night it's gonna be.

6-10??? Not at this rate.
Come on.... you play the Vikings twice - that's two right there :hifive:
Yes, but where are there other 4 wins going to come from?

Raiders, Giants, Saints are all home games. Boy this season went into the crapper quickly.

I'll be at Lambeau Sunday night and looking forward to the Bear game as much as ever. I've now sat through three straight Bears wins at Lambeau, including the 26-0 debacle in last season's home opener, so there are some open wounds right now that need some healing (although the party at Soldier Field on new year's eve last season certainly took some of the pain away).

I'm sure Brian Urlacher is happy that William Henderson has finally retired, as Hendo made a career out of taking the overrated Bears MLB out of the play at will. If Harris is out or even limited, Urlacher will spend much of the day on his back looking up at the Green Bay skies.

I'm a fan of FF moreso than the Bears...why the hell should I talk about an injury-ridden debacle of a team at this point. Oh yeah....they will win in Lambeau this weekend...mark it down!

What's there to post about? You cheeseheads say the Bears suck and they do right now, no need to argue. Just like saying your women are chubby and you guys are a bunch of chubby chasers, no need to argue a fact.

I'm not a frequent poster around here, but I have my share of orange and navy blue koolaid stocked in my fridge.I would love to see the Bears right the ship, but if they continue to play like they have over the first four games of the season, then it's a lost season.Sure, if they win Sunday it could be the jump start they need, but they have to win convincingly. I don't want them playing stupid like they have so far. As you know, on any given Sunday...but that doesn't mean they win more frequently over the rest of the season.

What's funny is how all the haters disappeared last year after the Bears went to the SB. We heard the same thing the entire season over and over again. The Bears suck. They may make the playoffs but won't go far. Well, where'd they all go after we went to the SB? Not a single one of them stepped up to the plate and said they were wrong. The same that always happens around here. Just the same old tired bs about how the NFC was weak and anyone could've went to the SB in the NFC. So spare me with the Bears fans have stopped posting shtick. We're in every Bears thread on here.

Where's Grid? He's always running at the mouth about the Bears.
He really sticks out in my mind....bumping that stupid bear superbowl countdown post every week.

It is tough to run into a Bears fan in the pool these days. Sweatness_34 has all but vanished.
This is what I was talking about. The jabbing back and forth, especially with GRID. But FBG has all but put an end to that stuff.Sad indeed.

This is what I'm talking about!!!!!! :shrug:Unfortunately this will probably get the thread locked. :)

We had no choice but to disappear. When the big guy slaps his hand down and says "Have a good season guy" What can you do? :)

The Bears reached the SB - but ultimately screwed the pooch. What else is there to say?

bears win this one. there, I said it. Packers are overrated as any team I've ever witnessed.
So you didn't see any Bears games in either the 2001 or 2006 seasons?
I guess the entire NFC was overrated since they represented them in the Superbowl in 2006. Wait a second, the entire NFC WAS overrated in 2006...Do us a favor and let KoRo know that we're having a kegger in the Lambeau parking lot before the game, that is if we can fit our car between all those tractors and combines.

Who is going to be out this week for the Bears defense? GB offense inifinately better than CHI offense. CHI defense....how much better than GB defense at this point?

On the bright side they saved money by not having to expand their trophy case, so they have that going for them, ....

I'm so looking forward to this game... last year was rough as a packer fan...

Good to see the pack playing strong again... and you can never underestimate the Bears... Rex or not, injuries or not.
