From PFT this morning...

Plane Flies From Minneapolis To Hattiesburg, And Back Again

Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2009, 10:59 p.m.

It probably means nothing.

But, let’s face it, Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport is hardly a major hub of transportation.

Only five flights arrived there today, and only six departed.

One of the arrivals came from Minneapolis, and one of the departures headed back there.

The plane from Minneapolis arrived at 9:11 a.m. local time, and left at 4:14 p.m. local time.

It probably has nothing to do with one of the more famous residents of Hattiesburg. After all, he’s retired from playing football, and he has no intention of coming back.

Favre said so himself. “It’s all rumor. [There’s] no reason for it.”

Oh, wait. That was last year, when Favre shot down in early July talk that he wanted to come back.

Since he was telling the truth then, he’s surely telling the truth now.
It appears it was Target execs
Wait, Favre's working at Target now? :goodposting:
Yes, and if you're having trouble figuring out which one, look for the one that's covered.

Isn't that what old retired people do?Or am I thinking of the greeters in Wal-Mart?

The Packers should have tried this...

"The Oak Grove Warriors of Hattiesburg, Miss., had a strong football season in 2008, finishing 12-2 after a 28-0 loss to Meridian in the state Class 5A quarterfinals. There were rumors that some Warriors felt as if they could have advanced further, if only their early-summer preparation had not been disrupted by an interloper named Brett Favre.

That's why sources are suggesting the gates have been padlocked and several strands of barbed wire have been attached above the fences at Warrior Field.

The latest scare that Favre might be again planning to use Warrior Field as a backdrop for TV mini-cams surfaced Tuesday night when it was revealed the New York Jets had granted his demand for a release.

Favre had made this request previously in February, in conjunction with a retirement announcement. He was more forceful this week, after the Jets moved up in the draft to acquire Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez."

Latest buzz is that new free-agent QB Brett Favre, 39, who could end up with the Vikings, has hired a personal trainer at home in Mississippi.

Favre's sudden arrival on the market makes you wonder if that's the reason the Vikings haven't spent much on free agency this year. Maybe they knew something.

Any link on that one?I don't doubt it, I just love this stuff. :goodposting:

The ESPN Monday night Vikings-Packers game Oct. 5 at the Metrodome, if Favre is the Vikings' quarterback, could set a viewership record.

:lmao:  :lmao:

"Well of course he's hired a personal trainer? One only has to look at Kathleen Turner to see what happens to retired prima donnas if they don't!"/Bus Cook

Brett Favre to the press after the Vikings sign him: "Trading a 4th for Sage Rosenfels was just a smokescreen."
:lmao: If Favre does come back, and suits up for the Vikings it is for 2 reasons. First is to stick it to Thompson. Second is to make sure all the passing records remain his. If he hangs around long enough to pad his stats to higher levels, then Manning has to stick around longer and possibly look as foolish as Favre is going to look.Go Favre!

I think if he comes back it will be for the record of "consecutive game played by a non kicker". It is currently held by Viking Jim Marshall and Favre could pass him with one more season.

Forgot about that one.

If Favre goes to Minn. it may not be until after the season starts and Sage/Tardvaris prove stinky. Favre still doesn't like training camp.
Tardvaris has already done his part. Sage showed he can top Favre in stupidity last year vs Indy. I see it happening.
