is the packers oline deserving of such a poor ranking regarding future rushing performance? i'm not exactly disputing the ranking of a C, i'd just appreciate some additional input. homers (or anyone really) please gimme a little info. at your leisure of course.

They have question marks up and down the line, but if things fall into place I think they will be very good. If they stay healthy, we can reasonably expect them to improve over last season as the main problem they had was youthful inconsistency. Certainly better at pass pro than they are at run-blocking, which some say is a result of the newly-implemented zone blocking scheme not being a good fit for veteran tackles Clifton and Tauscher. If the two tackles can stay healthy, they are very solid - above NFL average in my opinion. Wells is not a great center, but is reportedly very vaulable in his role as the OL's leader, directing assignments at the snap, so its important for him to get healthy and stay healthy. There are numerous guards shuffling in and out of the rotation over the past two seasons - all the same faces so hopefully two or three of them will emerge this season as the clear starters.

Right now...if Wells is iffy all year. Yes...C is about right.

If he is healthy...IMO, they are a solid B to a B+ line.

They are very good on the outside. Wells, is capable at Center. Spitz is versatile and a good RG. Colledge will be the LG and is probably the weakest link...if Barbre could get out of the dog house, he has been very good in training camp but has done something to hit the pine most of the time rather than taking over for Colledge.

They do have some depth as long as the rookie Sitton can come back from injury (depth at RG) Barber and Moll can both play LG or RG and Moll and Colledge are working to be backup tackles along with rookie Giacomini.

Again Id say with the questions around Wells right now, C is about right.

I thought the Pack's zone blocking improved greatly as the season went along. Frankly, I think some of Grant's great runs were based partly his talent and mostly on the downfield holes that the O line opened up. Grant saw a lot of daylight on a lot of plays.
