Packers Pats semi-official game thread (1 Viewer)

Fox and CBS get first dibs on protecting games from getting flexed. They rightfully protected what could be an NFC championship preview.
Also the last time Rodgers and Brady met...it was huge ratings and I’d bet the game last night saw big ratings again from the start.

That & the James White resurrection drive. Huge swing of fortunes for sure.
Actually, the Packers defense had pretty well contained the Patriots, especially James White, until their LB got ejected. Once that happened, the Patriots ran the ball with ease and White started finding a ton of success in the passing game.

I definitely wouldn’t disagree 100% but we lost to two of the best teams in the NFL on the road with a slew of injuries and it took turnovers at the end to do us in.

This shows how insanely good Rodgers is taking McCarthys crap offensive game plans and keeping the Pack in it or like the Rams game a shot at winning unless sabotaged by another stupid player. (Montgomery)
I think you are right...they need more than 12...bad drafting, bad management, and a coach who has done nothing with a hall of fame qb...

Are they stuck in mediocrity hell?  a great qb and just enough to stay at or just above .500?

Apparently you missed the first drive where White had 3 receptions, 3 carries, 60 yards and a touchdown?

They “contained” him on tnat opening drive like a screen door contains a hurricane.

Through three quarters the Packers held Brady & Co. (in Foxborough) to 17 points.  Any team in the league would take that.  I thought the defense played very well, especially given they were missing half of their starters from the start of the year. Ryan, Wilkerson, Haha, White, King, ALexander...  list goes on.

Too many injuries this year for the Pack. Trading away secondary depth is a nail in the coffin.

Sorry but you missed the fact that the defense they ran the first drive they changed by putting in the LB the was later ejected on the second drive.  I am not going to look it up, but i believe they held NE on the next three drives to punts using this defensive alignment.  Then the LB got tossed and they had to go back to the 2 LB defense they started the game with.  Only time they stopped NE after that was when Brady went on his 7 incompletions in a row.  The suspensions of the LB completely changed the defenses effectiveness from that point on.  Not that NE would have not figured out how to take advantage of it later in the game though.

I will just drop this here and people can come to their own conclusions: Is Aaron Rodgers Really the Comeback King?

Basically, they looked at 4th Quarter Comebacks since 1994. They ranked 84 QBs on frequency of comebacks in the fourth quarter. Rodgers had a a 28.6 percent win rate, which ranked 54th. That article was dated 9/11/18 so would not include results from this season.

Luck ranked #1 (52%), Brady #2 (51.5%), and Peyton ranked 3rd (48.9%).

Cool stat.

Pretty silly that Luck / Brady / Peyton ... win as many games as they lose while losing in the 4th qtr.

Hard to comprehend.

(I imagine Lucks percentage will drop drastically going forward)

Good list.  I bet Ds would much rather face Rodgers working on a comeback than Carr or Dalton, since your posted stats clearly support that.
