Packers release wide receiver Boerigter

2006-08-22 18:42

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -The Green Bay Packers released wide receiver Marc Boerigter on Tuesday.

The Packers signed Boerigter on March 26 as an unrestricted free agent from Kansas City for $782,780 over one year. The contract contained a $90,000 signing bonus.

The 28-year-old only caught one pass for 19 yards in two preseason games.

Boerigter spent four seasons with the Chiefs, and had 39 receptions for 697 yards and eight touchdowns.

How many days till Carl Peterson signs him......1, 2...three tops?!?!

That guy was the most overhyped KC player in the last 10 years. Great guy, but very below-average WR.

The writing was on the wall when the only thing the Green Bay paper could write about him was that he is white. The best part of that article being the fact that the reporter apparently went around asking DBs if they felt worse when a white WR burned them.

He was horrible so far. The guy isn't worth a roster spot at this time.

I still remember Boerigter as MOP's top 10 wideout in 2003 because of his 8 fluke 2002 TDs. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:link: I highly doubt I had him in my top10...I never even drafted that guy on any team I ever had so I can't imagine I put him in there...are you sure it wasn't a spotlight WR thread of sorts.

:lmao: at tommy for trying to call out someone for being wrong. He's the poster child for being wrong! :D
I just wonder if he went out and got the Miami Heat Shaq edition jersey and put it on over his Kobe pajamas

I don't remember MOP saying anything about Boerigter, but I DO remember Maximus* gushing about him that year - maybe TommyGunz was thinking of him? Whatever happened to Maximus* anyway?

Get the heck out of here Groovus/Tommygunz, me...hyping Marc Boeritger.....not on your life...... :) Nah, you guys got good memories and me a bad one as I do recall my hyping of Boeritger that year thought not in the Top 10.....was more like Top 20. Still though, the dude wasn't even Top 100......heheAnyways, good to see you guys around and reminding me of this crap....

I'd just like to point out that he got $90,000 for hanging out with the Packers during the offseason. That's pretty amazing. I think Ryan Leaf got something like $1 million to sign with (and get cut from) Tampa bay a few years back. Stuff like that is pretty interesting to me.

Nice to see you're still around. We all make some bad calls every now and then - what fun would it be if noone ever reminded us of them?So what are your projections for Boerigter now that he's a Colt? :D
