I don't see this as a firesale at all. If they felt Parsons wasn't going to play for them (and they felt he was using the back as an excuse) then yes, trading him makes them better.

Dak/Lamb/Pickens may have absolutely just become discount Burrow/Chase/Higgins. Well, Lamb isn't really discount (might honestly be better than Chase) but the idea is the same.

Let's assume they are both picks after pick #20. Packers make the playoffs next two years. A fair assumption. Not a lock.

Look at the first round after pick 20. Find two guys you would combine for Micah. Not a lot of combos.

Now we add in who you can get for that $$$.

The hit rate on expensive FA and late 1st are both really bad.

The hit rate on re-signing your own studs is much better. And the Cowboys put themselves in a hole with the Prescott deal, and Parsons, by waiting and waiting.

So NOW, yeah he's mad expensive. The second his 3rd year was up, they should have been doing a deal. But Jerry thinks players should give a discount for playing in DAL and tried to cut a deal without the agent/lawyers involved (just....scummy behavior). Micah knew his value, and got pissed.

So yeah, they got two 1's, that's nice, and maybe those picks get them the next great QB. Then yeah, it's a win. If GB wins a Super Bowl during Parsons time there, that's a win as well.

one of the all-time players that Micah is constantly mentioned in the same breath, Reggie White, was the poster child for modern free agency and he helped bring another chip to Titletown. Hoping for lightening to strike twice!

I think he is a generational linebacker like Ray Lewis, LT, Butkus. Those 3 changed the game. If Dallas really is going to rebuild then cool but it seems odd after grabbing Pickens. If they want to compete now then it's a terrible move. Pay the generational player whatever the **** he asks for. Unless you don't believe in Dak (I don't) but again they went and grabbed Pickens.

Yeah, I'm still a little worried about week 1. Nice it's at home, but there's probably some growing pains to start in a few places. It's a long season and I expect the Packers barring injury will be a force once everyone is full gas. This is a super bowl or bust kind of move.
