Patrick Crayton Takes Aim At Aaron Rodgers (1 Viewer)

From RotoWorld:

Outspoken Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton opined that the Brett Favre saga is "shaking Aaron Rodgers" no matter what Rodgers and the Packers say.

Crayton then went on to urge the Packers to start Rodgers against the Cowboys on September 21. Reminded that Rodgers played well against them when Favre went down with injury, Crayton responded: "Did anyone have any film on him? Their defense had film on him for last week's scrimmage. How'd that go?" Ouch. Rodgers will get a chance to temporarily shut Crayton up next month.

At least this criticism isn't coming from some second-rate WR who is averaging only 30 catches per season. That would be embarrassing!

Crayton should worry about catching the balls thrown to him. He seems to have a hard just dealing with that, let alone giving others fuel for their fires. :excited:

I believe it's true. It's just something folks don't want to talk about. It will show when the Pack end the season no better than 7-9 that Favre should have been the QB of this team.

Once, just once, I'd love to see an athlete like Aaron Rodgers say this from behind a podium when hit with a question about this. I'd pay to see it even.

heard an interview with a Cowboys DB a few weeks back who said that he would rather face Favre than Rodgers. it might have been Newman, but i can't remember for sure.

Patrick needs to learn when the press is quote fishing and not get caught. He also needs to learn to be humble.

WOW - a Patty Crayton commentary, now THIS is Favre/GB/etc news worth bumping!! :lmao: I can't wait to hear his views on the economy and world politics.

 Also, Crayton has had a far better career than Rodgers so far, too.

He also needs to learn to sprout wings and fly. Oh, and to catch footballs thrown his direction. All scenarios are equally unlikely.

Who?
WR2 for the Cowboys. A stud in the making.
"Patrick Crayton is a stud in the making" is like "This is the year the Cardinals break out with all those weapons" or "The Redskins are headed for cap hell." They are things repeated over and over yet don't happen.
Don't forget the old chesnut about "This is the year that Fred Taylor breaks down," I've been beating that warhorse for about 10 years now.I'd hope someone on the Cowboys would have a talk with Crayton about these sort of statements. Isn't he the guy who said they'd see the Patriots again in the Super Bowl, IF the Pats made it there?

He's only started one year.As far stud in the making, I'd settle for solid WR 2.

As for the commment, I don't like it. I don't even understand why he's even thinking about GB issues. If I were coach, I'd figure that Crayton must have too much time on his hands and he'd find himself doing a little more running with the extra time he must have.

LOL. I think Hurd steals his job by year end and he is fighting Austin for targets.

Why? So they can go 10-6 and lose in the playoffs? It isn't worth it.

Crayton should keep his mouth shut and play football try not to lose his job to Isaiah Stanback.
 Crayton won't be the #2 WR by season's end.
Austin?
My early guess is Sam Hurd, the guys really been working hard this offseason. Now hard work doesn't always translate to results, but if it did, Hurd would be the guy. Between Hurd, Austin, Stanbak, and Amendola, I don't see Crayton lighting up the world. Granted, I don't see Amendola being anything more than a role player in the slot. And Stanback I think is a year away still. But Hurd and Austin have a chance.

If Crayton had done something to earn the right to speak publicly, I'd say he's a knucklehead and needs to think before he speaks. Right now he just needs to focus on playing football and as many have already pointed out, not dropping footballs. Throwing jabs at Aaron Rodgers, Favre or anyone brings zero production for him or the team.

I guess this is fairly mellow compared to a lot of WR's in the league that have suddenly decided they are spokespeople. Still, no place for it

Crayton seems to be singing a different tune now.

Patrick Crayton gives Aaron Rodgers some props

That wasn't the case back in training camp, when talkative WR Patrick Crayton said Aaron Rodgers was "shaken" from the Brett Favre soap opera and urged Green Bay to boot Favre.

Crayton implied that Rodgers wouldn't perform as well as he did against the Cowboys last season once teams got some film on him. Well, Rodgers has proved the doubters wrong while leading the Packers to a 2-0 start.

"He's playing damn good right now," Crayton said. "And it helps that he's got some veterans around him. They're not asking him to win games for them. But when they're asking him to go out there and make certain throws, he's making them and taking care of the ball."

Crayton did make sure to mention that the Cowboys' defense has some film of Rodgers now, though.

They may not be asking him to win games for them, but he's doing it anyway. Who is this Crayton guy who keeps getting media airtime to dish about a QB who is playing remarkably thusfar this season? ;)

HAHA I must admit that I didn't check the date of the original post and was like "WTF? They're 2-0 and looking great!"

Crayton's a moron though...

so, if he starts this week just remember who goaded the pack into playing him.

Where in the hell does Patrick effin Crayton get off opening his mouth? And more importantly, why would anyone listen to what he has to say?

who cares. he made a statement in August that was mostly true. now he's givin rodgers props.

as for the game on Sunday nite, ol' rodgers is gonna have his hands full. no way Dallas' D plays as bad in pass coverage as they did last Monday. T.Newman is back baby!
