He had a lot of hype coming into the season, especially with Glenn limited and then out. It seems like he's been a disappointment since that time. He dropped an easy TD last week, Hurd is playing well, and Witten gets way more looks. I think he has some abilities, but do you think he can be a producer long-term? Will he be a starter, and a productive one at that, for the Cowboys down the road?

I say no. He will be a free agent next year. I see a 28yo wr who is squandering his chance to prove that the reason he has never had 600 receiving yards or 5 TD's in a season was lack of opportunity.

Any Cowboys' homers have an opinion?
That would be nice..I own him in a dynasty and am considering dropping him for one of the prospects sitting on my waiver wire. ONe would think Crayton should be valuable as the #2 in that offense but we're not seeing anything so far.

He's "just a guy" at WR. He will do fine in offenses where he is the third option. He doesn't have the talent to be an alpha dog.

The long-term answer at WR in Dallas (for now) is Isaiah Stanback.

Yes, I am a homer.

He is not a legit starting WR. He is a slot WR and more of a possession guy. He has great hands (Other than his TD drop last week) and terrible speed. He struggles to get seperation and struggles with press coverage. Runs good routes.

Also, there is the misconception that he is the #2 with Glenn out. The reality is that Hurd took Glenn's spot. Crayton continues to plays the slot. In a 2 WR formation it is Hurd not Crayton on the field.

Not a A1 propect for my money.

If TO were to go down to injury, do you guys think Crayton or Hurd would have more value? At this point I'm thinking Hurd would be the guy but his lack of catches over the past few weeks leaves me uncertain.

I live in Dallas and I watch all the Cowboys games. Crayton is the 5th option behind JJ, MBIII, TO, Witten. He is a high risk medium reward player on your fantasy team. Last week he dropped an easy touchdown pass from Romo because of that broken pinky. Had he caught it his stats would have been 4 catches 33yrds 1 TD. He's only worth using as a bye week replacement depending on the matchup.

Dallas homer here as well. Not only did Crayton drop the TD last week but he was also responsible for Romo's lone INT that bounced off of his hands to A.Archuleta. His hands are reliable (when his fingers aren't broken) and while he serves as the slot WR he has shown that he can shoulder the load temporarily as he did prior to T.Glenn and T.O's arrival in Dallas.

Saying that, I believe Sam Hurd is the future #1 for Dallas barring a top flight draft pick.

After seeing him the last 3 weeks, I can agree with this. This doesn't mean he can't come thru with a 100 and a TD week for you but he doesn't have that burner speed you'd like to have.

Yeah, I look for Dallas to draft their future #1 with one of their first rounders next year.

Maybe the finger is affected him? I mean the bone did pop out of the skin right?

I agree that Crayton is blowing his chance though.
