Didn't see anything on this, so apologies if I crashed the Civic into the Pool.

I didn't see the game yesterday, but was Crayton's performance an aberration? DAL seems to be putting up points in bunches, so I would think possibly not, even though STL is god awful horrible. Was he getting separation and running away or was he breaking tackles and working for YAC? Romo seems on as well, which I would think helps Crayton's potential.

TIA.

From what I could tell (only watched parts of the game), he was a product of the situation. Meaning that St. Louis was worried about Owens, Witten, Jones/Barber and then Romo scrambling. Crayton was the benefit of a lot of one on one coverage, but to his credit he made some nice moves and got some good YAC.This game was more along the lines of what I expected from Crayton this season with Glenn out, but up until this game he was a non-factor. I don't know if its a trend or an abberation either. He will certainly have opportunities on this team, but I think he will only shine when facing bad defenses.

Lenny Walls. That is who was lined up across from him and that is about it, he didn't cover him except to see where Crayton had already been.

This is partially correct, but also add in that his long TD (59 yards) was a blown tackle. It should have been no more than 10 yards, but the DB whiffed and left the sideline unguarded.Even so, taking away 1 TD and 40-50 yards and he still had a great day.The Rams seemed more intent on TO, and Crayton stepped up and delivered. So much for the issue with the broken finger.

I think that he is finally breaking out in his role on that offense. He was a number 3 receiver, and did very good at that position before. Now, he has stepped up into his new role, and Romo has found confidence in him.. which he had in him last year as the number 3. People are saying "he was a product of the situation, with the defense worrying more about Owens, and Witten"... which is very true. However, that is going to happen all year long. Crayton will always be valuable, because he is a #2 receiver, and draws the least amount of coverage on the field. Now, that Romo is seriously looking to Crayton in the clutch, coupled with the fact that he is the #2 receiver on the highest powered offense in the NFL... I think that his value is very high right now.

Couple of queshins. Is Terry Glenn ever coming back this season? Is Crayton like to repeat this performance, especially against teams with weaker #2 corners?

Love your avatar.IMHO this might happen 1 or 2 more times this season, and the rest of the games being hit or miss. He has had his best success against the Redskins, but Romo has so many other weapons that Crayton is going to get lost in the shuffle from time to time. (See TO's 30 yards).I'd say he's a risky play at WR3/Flex leagues. I can see him dropping an egg next week. I think this can be said for all Dallas Offensive players. Every week, one of those guys will drop a egg, with all the other producing.

Rams came into the game with the plan of stopping Dallas from running the ball and double coverage on TO all game and heavy blitzing leaving 1 on 1 match ups for Crayton. Crayton produced and due to the dominating presence of TO and Witten he will in all likelyhood be faced with alot of 1 on 1 situations for the remainder of the year which he can exploit so he does have value but he can just as easily lay a goose egg if TO or Witten get hot.

Like his talent and his situation (long term stability in his QB situation) in Big D. The perfect bye week fill-in/occasional spot starter.

I don't think he a budding star talent-wise, but as long as he's the #2 in Dallas he should put up nice numbers this year. Also, I with he'd change his last name to Clayton.

Too many targets for a decent defense to cover let alone StL. I predict a rise in the ranking of WR2s facing that D for the remainder of the season.
