First off the Pats need to add a Q.B. to their roster. Matt Flynn is smart, experienced, and out there right now. His phone should be ringing, as should Vince Young's, and Brett Favre's. I mean imagine if Garrappolo gets hurt during camp.

Next, his agent speaks at the authorization of Tom Brady when he represents Tom Brady. The Agent's remarks can be impugned to Tom Brady. The remarks are inflammatory, childish, and in many instances not true. They also show no contrition, no lesson learned. Brady would do well to muzzle the agent until cooler heads can prevail.

To those N.E. fans who have accepted matters and acted maturely, I feel for you that during this time which must be difficult for you, you are also likely to be lumped in with the many lunkheads here and elsewhere who are only serving to give or worsen N.E.'s bad name. I try to remember there are those of you, les vocal than the lunkheads, who are models of maturity and resolute behavior.

Given Payton's punishment, it's shocking Belicheck didn't get any suspension at all.
So in Spygate, Belichick was punished for breaking the rules. No evidence of Brady breaking the rules, and no fine/suspension there.

In Deflategate, Brady was fined/suspended for breaking the rules. No evidence of Belichick breaking the rules, so no fine/suspension there.

Few questions:

1) Does Belichick have a pattern of cheating, if he was caught and punished 1x only?

2) Does Brady have a pattern of cheating, if he was caught and punished 1x only?

3) If Drew Brees is caught cheating and covers it up (and there's no evidence of Sean Payton's involvement), does the NFL consider the Saints repeat offenders for Sean Payton's rule-breaking and cover-up in Bountygate?

Don't like the Pats and was glad to see them lose their draft picks.

But just as I constantly railed on last season when they sat Peterson this new thing of just suspending players left and right for enormous chunks of the season is not so much bad for the NFL as it's terrible.

Need to find another way of discipline. We still have months to go before the season and already we are looking at an opener without Bell, Blount and Brady. For smoking pot and arguably knowing about letting air out of a football. This is good for the game? How?

As a fan I only hope this Brady suspension forces the real people that can make this stop into action. Those people are the networks who are seeing their product the product they paid for get diminished.

The NFL managed before Tommy got here. in fact, it managed for 30 years with the patriots sucking out loud.

It'll survive.

It's not about survival it's about putting the best product out there. The networks did not pay all that money to see players suspended and just hope to survive.

ETA-and I never at one time said this was just about only Brady. It's a pattern of suspending multiple players for heavy chunks of or all of a season.

Fans don't pay money to watch teams cheat their way to victory.

I wonder if anyone will tune in to watch Garrapolo vs. the Steelers in week 1.

By the way, you don't NOT suspend a player because of the networks. You know that, right?

I would like to commend the NFL here. Honestly. Regardless of how solid or not their evidence may have been, they came to a conclusion he did wrong. They did not back down regardless of this player's stature as a premier player and a face of the league. Everyone was saying cause he's a big time player in the league he'd get off with a slap on the wrist. Good for the NFL on standing their ground.
Commend them on being inconsistent?

4 games for their MVP, $1 Mil and next years 1st?

That is overboard.
It would be if it were NE 1st offense but its not! Wouldn't you think NE would of learned from Spygate with the heavy punishment then? Their arrogance has put them in this position and they deserve every piece of this decision.
That's what I don't get. They were caught cheating once and had a very large penalty. If there were good morals at the top you would have thought they would have told everyone to walk the straight and narrow. I guess that message never got across.

No Brady and Blount? Time to close shop, NFL.

That makes zero sense, you know that, right?

Let me put another way.

The television viewing experience for people for a single nationally televised game should not affect anyone's decision on a punishment.

meanwhile Jamis Winston is thanking his lucky stars that everyone is ignoring his poor start and almost assured conviction of rape in civil court

I mean, we need to REALLY prioritize 1# of ball pressure over rape don't we ?

The NFL can multi-task.

They managed to run an entire draft in a new city while investigating the Pats latest cheating scandal, and Tom Brady's lies.

I know that some people are here just to troll the Patriot fans but this is not a good decision for any team in the NFL. It not like a GM and coach can know and control every player on their roster. All it would take is for one player to emulate Jerry Rice and use stickum. Goodell would have to come down with an iron fist. Say goodbye to your first round pick.

They should be able to control the ball boys.

It seems safe to assume we have probably seen the last of The Deflator on the Patriots sidelines.

As part of the league’s announcement of the punishment of the team and Tom Brady for #DeflateGate, the Patriots admitted that “employees John Jastremski and James McNally have been indefinitely suspended without pay by the club, effective on May 6th.”

Jastremski was an assistant equipment man with the team, and a full-time employee, while McNally was a game-day attendant for the officials locker room, and the self-described “Deflator.”

The league announced that neither can be reinstated without league executive vice president Troy Vincent’s approval, and spells out that: “If they are reinstated by the Patriots, Jastremski is prohibited from having any role in the preparation, supervision, or handling of footballs to be used in NFL games during the 2015 season. McNally is barred from serving as a locker room attendant for the game officials, or having any involvement with the preparation, supervision, or handling of footballs or any other equipment on game day.”

How much power does a ball boy have compared to an NFL star? If he didn't cooperate, he be picking road apples.

Well, they cooperated, and now they pickin' road apples.

How does the teflon hoodie escape punishment again??

He should be suspended for 4 games too
They took away a 1st/4th rounder, that's enough punishment for him.

I happen to believe he knew the guys were doing something with the balls, but there's no evidence of that, so he shouldn't get suspended for this.

Mike Loyko@NEPD_Loyko

There is no way in hell this punishment stands. Brady will miss two games. #Patriots will end up losing a 3rd round pick. Favorite it.
Kraft already stated he wouldnt fight any judgment the NFL handed out.
Yes he did. I don't think he will accept this however.
Add one more to the dishonest list in New England.
Can't trust anyone over there. Owner, Coach, QB, Ballboy. What's next.

Not really.

Unless the player lies about it and obstructs investigation. Or gets inspected and then applies stickum.

Well, at least the Pats fans finally get to get that Ray Rice narrative out of their system. Holding that in the past few days must have felt like not peeing for 3 days.

If there was nothing illegal going on, why were they suspended by the club, I wonder?
