What does Brady do when the deflator and/or the lackey sit down with one of the hundred reporters that are calling them non stop.
Most people already think Brady did this, and he has been punished already. why care at this point?
Brady says he didn't have anything to do with this. These guys look like they are about to get canned let's see what they have to say. How did they do this, who told them to do it. If fired, maybe they'll want to look into suing for wrongful termination. There are a ton of angles, ton of questions.Every big talk show, sports talk guy, investigative reporter etc has their booking guy calling these guys 10 times a day.
It's going to happen and the golden boy will look 10 times worse than he already does.
Yeah, but then they'll have the ulterior motive of doing it for the money. That'll be the next excuse.

Too harsh, IMO.

Brady, I could have seen MAYBE 2 games. I expected a fine of MAYBE $250,000 for NE. Definitely think Goodell over-reached here.

He is obviously trying to send a message, but this was too much. Although the Pats and Brady screwed up by failing to fully cooperate, I don't think it warranted this much.
yeah, they should've cooperated like those 2 dudes who just got fired

Mike Loyko@NEPD_Loyko

There is no way in hell this punishment stands. Brady will miss two games. #Patriots will end up losing a 3rd round pick. Favorite it.
Kraft already stated he wouldnt fight any judgment the NFL handed out.
Yes he did. I don't think he will accept this however.
Add one more to the dishonest list in New England.
Can't trust anyone over there. Owner, Coach, QB, Ballboy. What's next.
I suspect some of their cheerleaders of padding their bras, having breast enhancements, whitening their teeth artificially, dying their hair, spray tanning, and rarely actually cheering. Nothing with that organization is real or honest. As regards the cheerleaders, though, I am alright with it.

As much as I hate the patriots I truly feel for the patriots fan base. Of course they're going to support their team no matter what, and I would do the exact same. The patriots have had a great team and maybe these tactics have them no advantage at all. But they did it and it will forever change public opinion of their team and that's not fair to the fan base to have to constantly defend their team. They really just compromised a great thing with a careless mistake.

It seems safe to assume we have probably seen the last of The Deflator on the Patriots sidelines.

As part of the leagues announcement of the punishment of the team and Tom Brady for #DeflateGate, the Patriots admitted that employees John Jastremski and James McNally have been indefinitely suspended without pay by the club, effective on May 6th.

Jastremski was an assistant equipment man with the team, and a full-time employee, while McNally was a game-day attendant for the officials locker room, and the self-described Deflator.

The league announced that neither can be reinstated without league executive vice president Troy Vincents approval, and spells out that: If they are reinstated by the Patriots, Jastremski is prohibited from having any role in the preparation, supervision, or handling of footballs to be used in NFL games during the 2015 season. McNally is barred from serving as a locker room attendant for the game officials, or having any involvement with the preparation, supervision, or handling of footballs or any other equipment on game day.
First one to squeal will get the bigger payday for the interview. ......which one will it be folks.
I would think they would have to move out of the area, change their name and appearance, and learn to do something with their accent. They would become very hated by some fairly crazy fans.

Their fan base doesn't seem to mind defending the Patriot Way and all that it entails. I wouldn't feel sorry for them..

At this point, parsing the logical line of argument proffered by our own contest winner (if there was an aggregate award, of course) is an exercise in futility. I would go so far as to say it's likely deliberately obfuscatory.

Before I watched my football team win for titles in fifteen years, and go to two more championship games, and set NFL and individual records for winning, and enjoyed the ongoing career of the greatest player ever to live, this stuff would have bothered me a lot more. And if I were a fan of one of the lesser teams in the league, and was worried I might never see a title in my life time, or had an inferiority complex about my good but not great team, I probably would have joined the clamor for stiffer penalties against a winning team just because it all seemed so unfair. All the fans of losing teams, and teams that finally made the playoffs only to lose the last game of their season, you've got every right to feel vindicated that the big bad patriots got taken down a notch. Enjoy the victory today, such as it is. I remember when rooting against someone felt good because rooting for my teams felt bad, and now that I've been on the other side for so long I get it. I can't help but feel a modicum of pity for those of you who will never live to be on this side of the fence. It's nice over here. And I'm rooting for you to some day get here so you understand. Good luck. Most of you will never see a team you like have this kind of success, ever. I feel badly about that. So, congratulations on winning whatever it is that has you so excited today. I'm happy for those of you who are in the kind of place where this makes you feel better.

True, but there are a few cities I can think of that would welcome them. The accent would have to go though.

you guys have been almost as good as the Patriots over the last fifteen years. By almost I mean about half. Which is really impressive, and I'm sorry nobody alive outside of primanti bros. country cares about the steroid era rings your team won. Happy for you tonight.

You are just making yourself look petty and pathetic.

It would have been a great 15 year run if both your QB and Coaching staff hadn't been caught cheating multiple times. This will be good practice for you on here because you will be defending their cheating ways the rest of your life.

Sorry guys, we have read the Patriot forums.

We know you are hurting. Seriously hurting.

Trying to deflect that onto others isn't working very well.

Still a few Lance Armstrong fans around.

As a Giants fan who has had the opportunity of winning a couple of championships as of late and beating the Pats to do so makes this all even more amusing. Hearing the Pats fans squirm as people challenge their teams legacy.

Bellicheck is the greatest football coach of our generation by a long shot. Brady is one of the greatest QB's of all time. But it does not mean that they should get passes for being idiots.

listen, I understand upset pats fans is about the only thing steelers fans have got going on right now, considering balt owning that division and all that, and there are certainly many pissed off pats fans -- that's no doubt.

but at the end of the year we will win our division.

Why would you even care about that when you just won the Super Bowl?

Oh, because you guys are an emotional wreck and feel like everything there-in is fraudulent.

We know. We can read and see it for ourselves. Bostonfred post (and many of similar nature) is a facade, its transparent.

I don't know which birds you root for but things have been pretty crappy for all the teams that have birds as a mascot, so I congratulate you, too, on whatever success you feel you've had tonight. Go flip over some cars or something. Maybe have some kind of pyrrhic victory parade. This is the pinnacle of success for bird based teams of all kinds, whether it's the ones who just lost to the Patriots in the superbowl, the other ones who lost to the Patriots in the superbowl a long time ago, or the ones who lost to the steelers in the superbowl a long time ago. I think the three avian teams have one title game between them in nfl history, so #### it, I say root for all of them. I'll join you tonight. Go birds.

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office.

Congrats......cheaters.

I don't get it. How can Brady appeal if he is not complying with the investigation?

It's like him saying " I'm totally innocent.... But don't check my phone records or emails ".

That is the one thing that will truly set him free if he complies and is found clean.

It's like getting pulled over and refusing a breathalyzer. Him refusing is not allowing them to prove his innocence too.
I think he'll probably start with them not proving his guilt.

Then he will calmly explain that he shouldn't have to hand over his personal information and the NFLPA will agree with them, as they have in the past with others.
Of course they did not have to prove his guilt, no matter your misunderstanding of the terms "prove" or "guilt". Whether they sustained their burden of showing by a preponderance of the evidence that Brady was culpable for participation in, or conspiracy to break a rule is the question, and one readily answered in the affirmative. Further, they will have to show that the League abused its substantial discretion and acted arbitrarily and capriciously, or with actual malice, when it acted to enhance the punishment to protect the collective integrity of the game and the League.

Next, the NFLPA will not be hearing the matter, though they may represent Brady. The matter will be heard by the League, or an independent arbitrator. The NFL should do well in front of either. Many presume otherwise based on scenarios where both the criminal and civil courts also had jurisdiction. This matter is an offense directly against the League and the League only and not the criminal or civil authority. Only the League can vindicate and correct this situation and it must fashion the entire remedy, not merely be a part of it. Naturally, having exclusive jurisdiction, and being uniquely and exclusively hurt by the actions, the League's punishment in this matter will be potentially harsher than in uncharged domestic violence cases, or DUI's. Most supposed precedents are out the door. Wife beating, child beating, rape, DUI, those precedents are not comparables for this situation no matter how much some wish they were. The comparables are Spygate, Bountygate, Noisegate, and a few others.

I do not see this matter ever getting to Federal Court, and the ever helpful to the players Judge David Doty. To stand before the Federal bench asking for equity one must approach with clean hands. The Patriots and Brady are quite sullied. Further, in any Federal action there would be substantial discovery, interrogatories, subpoenas ad testificandum and subpoenas duces tecum demanding sworn testimony and production of records. There you do not get to speak non-responsively and to claim that your ongoing and continuous non-responsive answers are somehow cooperation without being sanctioned. There you have to produce documents or suffer penalty. There, if you do not testify under oath, or testify falsely or evasively, adverse inferences can and will be drawn therefrom. Nope, Brady, his loud mouth and un-cautious Agent, and the Pats do not want to be in Federal Court.

The Federal court, of course, would not force Brady to hand over his phone. They would, however, tailor an order more or less as Ted Wells offered,to limit and protect his information which would be turned over to the Court for an in camera hearing before pretty much everything Wells originally asked for being turned over to the League, through the Court . Finally, the Pats and Brady cannot possibly risk what Frick and Frack, the Deflator Duo, might say under oath in Federal Court.

Kraft and Brady are too headstrong to have listened to their advisors thus far, but they may well determine that keeping this sad, sordid little matter conflated to seemingly higher status for many news cycles is exactly the wrong way to be handling this. The matter is done and the slow healing can begin. There is no reason to subject themselves to the death of a thousand cuts which would be the damning information dribble which would come with a long fight, more less a Federal lawsuit. It will be interesting if ego and hubris prevents them from seeing the light and acting contrite, whether they actually are or not.

Geez man I hope those titles really aren't that important to your personal self-worth. Oof.

This should quiet some PATS fans.

I wonder if Fred is touting the tainted pats titles while rocking his Aaron Hernandez jersey?

I wish Brady would stop hiding the actual truth. He did it and fans are always quick to forgive. In grand scheme of things it is not about deflating the football which would be so minimal in the grand scheme of things about winning a football game. The problem lies with him continuously lying about it. I get he was not going to admit it to play in the SB. But he should just come clean and move forward. The end.

of course not. that's what I'm saying. once you win title after title in every sport you start to realize how unfair it all is. Totally serious here. I get it. There was a time in my life I'd have cheered for my team to draft the best guy in his draft class, and who cares about the rape allegations, for example. sports makes you want word things, like for guys like that to have success in life, and to be excited for the opportunity to cheer for them. I'm just saying that all the winning had really helped me put stuff like this in context, and I totally understand how the delivery of an unprecedented penalty for a poorly measured, imperceptible difference in the psi of a football on a cold wet day is really important to people who are in a position where they're rooting for such distasteful things. I get it. And I'm cheering for you, too.

Celtics, Sox, Jets, Giants, Raiders, and Bruins fan here. I know nothing if not winning championships.

You're delusional. Your team cheats. You haven't won a thing. Your shtick isn't even accurate in any sense :lmao: How many Steelers fans on this board?

All this winning*

If its such an 'inperceptible difference', why cant Brady just admit that he was complicit?
