More news on all this today and no updates in here. I guess no one cares any more. NFL filing 200 page outline of why the judge was wrong. A former league official from Indy claims the Pats ball attendant has been acting suspicious for years. And an attorney interviewed by 60 Minute Sports claims the league knew exactly what gauges were used to measure the balls and fabricated Anderson's confusion to try to distort the actual readings (that's his explanation at least).
Yea he mentioned in the 10-15 games he was in foxboro that the ball boys were suspicious. However he had only been to foxboro 6 times.

NFL lies lies lies

You might want to read former NFL supervisor of officials Jim Daopoulos' assessment of McNally's performance of his job.

"In all my years working with locker-room attendants, Jim McNally, without a doubt, is probably one of the most professional of all the locker-room attendants in the National Football League," he said. "And that can be attested by all the officials working in the National Football League."

It's pretty entertaining how Goodell's shenanigans have managed to turn what was an anti-Brady lynch mob of public opinion into an anti-Goodell and anti-NFL lynch mob of public opinion. As a Patriots fan, it's pretty entertaining.

The fact that he continues to try to stick his tiny square #### into a round hole in spite of the significant damage he's doing to the league's image is the only "unfathomable" thing here.

Edit because "richard" is not censored by the word filter.

Yeah its hilarious to me how the public opinion has swung so hard the other way that Goodell when he does choose to talk about deflategate proclaims it has nothing to do with Tom Brady and everything to do with the NFL's right to punish people however they see fit.

Then in their briefing basically say the Pats and Brady are cheaters in every way they can.

Complete ####lords.

i'm glad that this was such a big deal that they put plans in place to take a serious look at the effects of weather on the equipment.

it still amazes me how inept the NFL actually is.

Does anyone for one second think the NFL wouldn't test all balls at all games if they felt it would bolster their claim against Brady and the Pats?
Of course they would. But they wouldn't want to make it public if it hurt their case. Why else would they make a policy that they might or might not test and they wouldn't release the results?

I wonder if PSI will come up for the Minny game. And as the balls get colder, eventually the PSI will drop below the limit. Are the going to stop in tbe middle of the game to pump more air in the balls?

I think it's obvious that any data that was collected during the season would only have proved the Pats claims that they did nothing to the balls. How else can you explain the lack of willingness of the league to do a thorough investigation into how the balls were affected by weather by an independent third party and then release the results.I have heard that the ONLY balls tested all year were in one game involving the Pats. HTF can any rational person not see thru this bs. It's absolutely laughable that anyone can believe anything the league says anymore.

Well here we go!

"Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that the NFL will implement its random PSI testing protocol at Sunday’s Seahawks-Vikings game."

"It’s also safe to say that 11 0f 12 footballs will be at least two pounds under 12.5 PSI. Possibly, 12 of 12."

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/10/report-nfl-to-test-psi-at-halftime-of-todays-game/

... so now we know that the NFL knows ... and what everyone with any common sense knows.

Will the NFL ever make these results public?

"The NFL will be hiring an independent investigator to determine how 24 of 24 footballs tested at halftime were well below the 12.5 lb psi minimum that they were tested at before the Seahawks / Vikings game."

Obviously both teams had a scheme in place to release air from the balls ... and the two quarterbacks, more likely than not, had knowledge of this scheme.

We expect loss of draft picks, monetary fines, and 4 game suspensions to follow.

:loco:

Since someone else bumped it, a ton of professors have come out with science that supports that nothing happened regardless of gauge used, including point by point explanations how exponent science was deeply flawed and wrong.

Some real sensitive Sammies in here. How can you walk around for this long with all thoE bunched panties?

It's almost like Pats fans just know deep in their heart that even if they did nothing wrong here its an organization with cheating running through their veins.

Not that most fans wouldn't swap franchises in a second, mind you. Not sure all would be so damned sensitive though. I mean, it's football. Have SOME measure of tough skins Patties.

It's mostly the draft picks we want back.
Maybe your staff will find them next time they're rummaging through dumpsters at the visiting team's hotel looking for playbooks and scouting reports.
Another completely fictional bull#### story that you choke down with a smile.
Don Van Natta is among the most respected sports journalists in the world and even the Patriots' response to his story didn't bother to refute the reports (from multiple former Pats employees, mind you) of stealing playbooks. To my knowledge nobody to this day has been able to poke a hole in that aspect of the story, and I'm not even sure anyone from the Pats has bothered to dispute it.

But sure, I'm the one choking down bull####.

I'd be interested in reading anything you link. I mean, I don't care enough to search myself, but I'm happy to consider any new studies.

give them the damn picks back already.

the only way they could look stupider is if they actually put on clown costumes.

We may be approaching the halfway point for Deflategate soon. The league will not back down no matter how bad they look. It's going all the way to the Supreme Court.

Id be embarrassed if i was one of the people in this thread ,and everywhere else , who went after the Pats with such anger and fervor, over something so ridiculous .

This is the #### that is going to make me stop watching football.

NFL is going full blown tard reality TV.

All the sheep buying into this utterly concocted controversy... why not watch Housewives of Beverly Hills and at least see some nice cleavage while you all fret over some drama over the PSI of a football.

Jesus christ.

Guaranteed IF the Pats make the SB the league releases their totally undoctored, unbiased findings about the PSI of game balls this year during the weeks leading up to the big game. If the Pats don't make it they wait to release the story when they deem it will have the most positive impact for their appeal, likely right before the hearing. This whole thing is becoming more and more obvious as a joke solely by the way the league has handled it if nothing else.

If the league wants to drag it back into the light they only make themselves look worse - the foundation of their argument, the flawed science doesn't stand up to any scrutiny.

If they want to show even more flawed science, the same people will refute their claims even louder. You have professors teaching classes on deflategate. You have professors and lawyers filing amicus curiae briefs in support of the Patriots in the NFL's appeal. The only people that believe the NFL are the people that want to believe, the NFL is still fighting because they don't wanna lose their power to just craft any garbage infraction and subsequent punishment unchecked.

The majority of the public will buy into it after their henchmen at ESPN preach it like gospel to the masses, that's all they care about.

Didn't even notice this story. I guess I've learned to block out deflategate stuff like web ads.

Can't believe the refs forgot the gauges and balls
if you think about it, this was pretty clever on the leagues part. The only way they can guarantee the Pats won't doctor the balls is if they are kept remotely until the absolute last minute. This little stunt prevented "The Inflator" from doing his thing.

Well played, NFL.

I'm a pretty big Pats fans myself, but I'm still amazed by what people think of deflategate:

A) They were, at some point, for X many games, deflating footballs to suit Brady (the texts show that beyond a shadow of a doubt).

B) They did not, for whatever reason (whether they stopped long ago, whether they got "tipped off") deflate footballs for the 2015 AFCCG.

Simple as that.

A) This is pretty much given, is a big part of why a lot of people are calling them cheats, and it would do better for more Pats fans to accept that fact.

B) There is a lot of disagreement on this part, and mostly Pats fans seem to use this 'theory' as a saving grace.

The disagreement is held by those who are unaware of the facts. Science doesn't support the theory that any undue manipulation took place.

So the childish texts from dorito dnk and his coworker are the smoking gun? Five million dollars spent on an investigation and this is the lynch pin? Too funny.

New York Times: True Scandal of Deflategate Lies in the NFL's Behavior

A summation as much as anything, but it is the Times. Maybe it will help.
And the article referenced by the Times which goes into more detail on the science behind it.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/1-year-after-deflate-gate-ballooned--science-shows-shame-of-it-all-073316233.html

Best line in the yahoo article is "A fourth-grader in Sacramento discredited it for her school science fair."

Maybe the NFL could have had her do the work and saved themselves some money.

i'd love to see the pats win and brady get the SB MVP. when goodell goes to the stage with the trophy and congratulates the pats, belichick grabs it, says "tom says to park the chevy in the garage, thanks" and walks away.

It seems to me that you are more obsessed with this than any Pats fan.

not really. Run It Up and company were derailing the Manning "scandal" by trying to compare it to this mess. I called bull#### on Run It Up, and am hoping we can continue that tangent here.

I'm fine with letting it all die if the patsfans are (which includes not making other threads about them).
