Morris is on IR and that leaves open a roster spot. Moroney was only out temporarily. They didn't sign Dillon when Maroney was out, why sign him now?
You never know - I once lost a dog and found him again 15 years later. At least, it looked like the same dog. Now that I think of it, I may just have stolen someone else's dog, but in the end I came out even so we're all good.Dillon was sssssssssssssssllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww last year. There's a reason nobody signed him. I can't imagine him refinding his lost speed.
Dillon turned down at least one advance that we know of...from the Bucs. There's a reason nobody signed him.
Fair enough, but do we know what the offer was?Dillon turned down at least one advance that we know of...from the Bucs. There's a reason nobody signed him.
Slow or not, 13td's is pretty darn good, no?Dillon was sssssssssssssssllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww last year. There's a reason nobody signed him. I can't imagine him refinding his lost speed.
Nonetheless, the Pats felt no need to add RBs when Maroney was injured.Morris is on IR and that leaves open a roster spot. Moroney was only out temporarily. They didn't sign Dillon when Maroney was out, why sign him now?
Wouldn't that be because Morris wasn't injured?Nonetheless, the Pats felt no need to add RBs when Maroney was injured.Morris is on IR and that leaves open a roster spot. Moroney was only out temporarily. They didn't sign Dillon when Maroney was out, why sign him now?
That was before Tom Brady turned into a goal line vulture.Slow or not, 13td's is pretty darn good, no?Dillon was sssssssssssssssllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww last year. There's a reason nobody signed him. I can't imagine him refinding his lost speed.

JohnnyU said:LOL at all the Dillon pickups in my leagues. I found it hard to drop the likes of P Thomas, or Jason Hill, or Steve Smith (NYG) for Dillon. He was done last year when he was in shape, let alone now. Talk about running in mud with waders on.
The "story" is...his agent left him a message that the Bucs wanted to talk...he sent a text to his agent that simply said "NO".pats3in4 said:Fair enough, but do we know what the offer was?gump said:Dillon turned down at least one advance that we know of...from the Bucs.pats3in4 said:There's a reason nobody signed him.
That is the question. Do they want him? It would seem like there would be a mutual meeting of the minds in this case. I certainly hope so. But maybe Dillon was slightly humbled if that was the case. My gut would lead me to believe that Dillon may be calling one of his former teammates 1st thing Monday morning if it hasnt already happened. Belichick is a smart guy. And if he thinks Dillon can help the cause, Im sure he'd give it strong consideration. Players of Dillon's caliber are proud guys, and its gotta be tough when your coach tells you that youve lost a step. That would be tough for most to take. but the simple fact that he stuck to his word, well atleast he 'sort of ' retired, would show me that he still has some loyalty to the team. And Belichick understands the psyche of these players. If Dillon wasnt happy about whatever role was expected and wanted to still be the man, that's not something to hate in a guy. You'd actually respect that. Even if you dont think the guy's still quite got it. And he did look slower last year. But Im talking about a minimal role as youve said around the goalline and 2nd half action wearing Ds down to help keep Maroney fresh for the playoffs. Its gotta be atleast 50/50 right now.If Dillon was in playing condition and could play like last year he'd be a good addition (especially since the options are very limited this time of year). While he wasn't the player he once was he was still productive last year. Obviously he doesn't have the wheels to break off long runs but if he comes in as a short yardage specialist he could potentially contribute (IMO Heath Evans is nothing special in this role). Last year he was excellent around the goalline and he could still move a pile. The big question is would the Pats want him back. While nothing big happened there were a lot of rumblings that Dillon wasn't happy as his role changed from being a primary RB to a member of an RBBC. The scuttlebutt is that's one of the reasons the Pats parted way with him after three years. I'm not sure bridges were actually burned but if they weren't it makes sense to at least kick the tires and see if he has anything left in the tank.
I assure that wouldnt factor in here. Tom Brady loves the guy, as do many others on that team. BB's not worried about fault at this point. I dont think he's real worried about what people think of him. he's trying to win a Superbowl. The Pats will never re-sign Dillon, if only because Bill Belichick will not allow the team to admit fault or show signs of weakness.
He's not crutial to my team, as I stated he'd be a backup. I'm just looking to add some depth during my leagues playoff, Pal.If you are needing Dillon by week 9 fold up the tents pal.
Complete nonsense. BB only cares about winning and if he feels Dillon can help them he'll bring him in. Ty Law threw verbal bombs at BB that were nuclear and he still tried to resign him a couple of years later. If he feels Dillon can help them that's all that will matter. Also, how would bringing Dillon back be a sign of weakness? They replaced him with Morris who played very well. The reason Dillon could possibly come back is due to nothing more than injuries and if BB feels he'll help the Pats win.The Pats will never re-sign Dillon, if only because Bill Belichick will not allow the team to admit fault or show signs of weakness.
With options like Moss, Watson and Vrabel, the Pats dont seem to have much need or desire to run the ball at the goalline. That was before Tom Brady turned into a goal line vulture.Slow or not, 13td's is pretty darn good, no?pats3in4 said:Dillon was sssssssssssssssllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww last year. This makes no sense.Morris was the RB, and Maroney was expected back shortly. Now, Maroney is the back and Morris is out for the year.See the difference?Nonetheless, the Pats felt no need to add RBs when Maroney was injured.Morris is on IR and that leaves open a roster spot. Moroney was only out temporarily. They didn't sign Dillon when Maroney was out, why sign him now?
There's something funny about adding an OLB as one of the unstoppable GL threats. Accurate. But still funny. With options like Moss, Watson and Vrabel, the Pats dont seem to have much need or desire to run the ball at the goalline. That was before Tom Brady turned into a goal line vulture.Slow or not, 13td's is pretty darn good, no?pats3in4 said:Dillon was sssssssssssssssllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww last year. do you know anything about fantasy footballIf you are needing Dillon by week 9 fold up the tents pal.
Yes I do & Dillon is WORTHLESS....I'd rather own Kyle Eckel at this point.do you know anything about fantasy footballIf you are needing Dillon by week 9 fold up the tents pal.![]()
I'd say your knowledge could be considered questionable. IF Dillion were to sign in NE, he spends this week and their bye week getting game ready. He is now available from a fantasy perspective for an owner who has injury problems or unproductive RB's. (Benson or T. Jones types.) I know guys who are 3-5 and have no intentions of "folding up the tent" that would consider Dillion if he gets some carries on the #1 offense in the NFLYes I do & Dillon is WORTHLESS....I'd rather own Kyle Eckel at this point.do you know anything about fantasy footballIf you are needing Dillon by week 9 fold up the tents pal.![]()
Yeah, or ex-Ronnie Brown owners sitting at the top of their league but didn't grab Chatman in time and looking desperately for ways to hang onto their lead in the standings.I'd say your knowledge could be considered questionable.
