Pats - Colts week 9: 4:15 PM EST (1 Viewer)

Does anybody know the answer to this? These are the two premiere franchises in the NFL over the past six years. I'm really surprised that this isn't going to be on primetime.

Flexible scheduling doesn't start until week 11.

The game has been on primetime for the past few years. CBS played the good soldier and let it happen. This is the NFL's way of repaying CBS for being a mensch. I believe 11/4 is the fall sweeps week, too.

I heard someone recently explain that the number of actual viewers is highest for the Sunday late game, not for prime time sports television either night. No I don't remember the commentator or have a link, but if I find the time later i will see if the television numbers back up this.

i'm not sure exactly how it works, but i think cbs and fox can reserve a game each week and then espn/nbc pick from what's left.

Just maybe everyone does not live on the west coast and they want the ratings. Some of us have jobs and live on the east coast.

CBS pays a mint for NFL coverage just like NBC and ESPN - you honestly think that they would let ALL the juicy games get away???
