Post any observations... looking forward to seeing if Welker gets on the field and if Turner is involved in the passing game.

They're just dump offs.. Turner is still going to come out on third downs.

Ryan looks pretty sharp on some short stuff.

Drop Edelman.... Welker looks just fine with 2 catches. The NE O line looks a little shaky.
:bag: Welker IDP dynasty league owner here - breathing sigh of relief as I couldn't pry Edelman away from his owner for anything this spring...PHEW!!!

I was thinking Maroney as a late flyer might be value... now, it had better be very late... Taylor has a little gas left in the tank if he can avoid injuries and it looks like Maroney won't see the field in the first half, while Taylor, Morris and Faulk all have.

Going to be RBBC no matter what, though.

ETA: Green-Ellis now on the field before Maroney as well.

This preseason I have seen some really terrible non-calls and bad flags, I mean, terrible reffing. I hope they get their act together before the season starts. Because it's preseason, it's under the radar, but I honestly can't ever remember such bad reffing in years...

what was that about the pats being a pass happy team that doesn't run the ball?

I think the question now is no longer will they lose a game this season, but will they ever lose a game.

Give it two years and the Patriots will look more like the Ravens/Bears of the last 10 years and less like the Colts/Pats.Run First, Tough D.

Aikman talking about how Norwood might not make the team...any truth to that? Smith or Nance worth a spot? Smith has looked questionable in pass pro, but good with the ball in his hands

Kerry Meier goes down with a non-contact knee injury, and seemed to be in significant pain. He did walk off, but it sure as heck looked like an ACL to me.

Has there been any update given on Meier...? I know this was only posted 10 or so minutes ago, but a lot of waiver pickup flyers rest here...

Good news bad news for me 2 start up drafts missed Welker at 62 in one but got him last night at pick 58 in another.

Wish I had got him in the FFPC like I had planned.

he walked off the field, and it looked minor. Not sure I'd jump to conclusions but it happened right at the end of the game, so there was no update

Maroney wasnt going to play in this game anyway. Last week Morris and Taylor sat, now it's Maroney's time to sit.
That's right, my bad. Forgot they were basically rotating the RBs game-by-game.Taylor had a nice game.

It's preseason for the ref's too. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Looks like the Falcons are serious in getting Turner more involved in the passing game. He caught at least two balls last night and I think caught everything thrown at him. He still doesn't look natural catching the ball and catches with his body instead of his hands. I could see him getting just enough love in the passing game to not drop him down rankings in ppr leagues.

Ryan seemed to be throwing a lot of short passes in the middle of the field early and didn't go to his receivers until the second quarter. Don't know if this was planned or if he just got more comfortable as the game went on and progressed through his reads with more patience. But I do think Gonzo will be the best value at TE this year.

John Parker Wilson looks better than backups on a lot of teams. Could be a dynasty stash in deep leagues.

Rookie WR Kerry Meier looked good and couldn't ask for weaker competition. He has an injured Micheal Jenkins, Brian Finneran, and Harry Douglas standing between him and relevance.

The NE running game is the equivalent of russian roulette. I want no part of any of it this year. Headache.

Welker is fine. I'd be really surprised if he caught less than 80 balls this year. People are still predicting him in the 40-50 catch range around here, and I personally think that is insane.

Hernandez looks and plays like a WR. If the Pats really do use more three TE sets this year, then Hernandez could be a good value, but I am gunshy on NE TEs.

There was an interview with Matt Ryan and he said that he learned from studying the top QBs in the off season to "keep throwing the short stuff until the defense takes it away." May have been that philosophy at work. Also, did Kerry Mier get injured towards the end of the game, on the play ATL scored a TD?Hernandez...liked watching him, that first time he caught the ball and made a good first move he looked very fluid for a guy his size. Liked to see Matt Ryan actually running the offense via the non hurry no huddle.
