Nate Washington
bostonfred has timed out, renesauz is now up.
Yes, my first pick timed out. But once I make that pick, I still have my four hours. Renesauz' pick can be allowed to stand, but there's no reason why I should not be granted the all powerful clock that you were. The rules clearly state that I am to be given eight hours to make my pick. If I fail to make my pick, I get four hours for my next pick. Tomorrow is the date that restricted free agents must sign. It is critically important to my draft strategy that I be allowed to see who signed and who did not. After all, everyone else will have multiple picks with that information. Let's make sure we get all the rules out on the table. The clock is not just there to make sure people can deal with their day to day activities. It is a POWERFUL STRATEGIC DEVICE that must be used to maximize my advantage at every pick.
Dude, you are better than this.1. The NW pick was his 16th, so of course it stands. You weren't up yet.2. The corners have 1 clock for their 2 picks, and have for a while. This means the corner gets less actual time, but that is the way it is. Pick already.

That's correct. It doesn't even make sense for the end to have more time. You yourself argued that the clock was never meant to be used as a strategic tool, but to accomadate real lives. Your (mis)interpretation would mean that the end would have 12 hours at SOME point in the draft (albeit only once) of their own choosing, which is not the purpose. You made a mountain out of a molehill with Jeff, and it this point, I don't think anybody even cares if you were right (which was obviously debatable), because you're definately wrong now.

To purposefully time out is a far greater transgression then to use a few extra hours of clock to look for specific news (like a schedule release.)

Man up and make your pick so we can get this thing finished.

That is correct. I don't disagree with this interpretation whatsoever. However, what we HAVEN'T seen is a case where someone on the corner makes their first pick, then waits to make their second. The reason the person on the corner gets "one clock for their two picks" is that, if they're gone for more than eight hours, we don't want to delay the draft for a full day (eight hours, plus eight hours when the clock is off, plus another four hours for their second pick). But now that we've introduced the idea of the clock as a strategic weapon, I challenge the idea that I somehow lose my right to a clock between picks. Since this has never happened before, you cannot claim precedent, and it's not in the rules.Of course I'd like to thank Jeff, who appears to have been sitting at his computer at precisely the time that my clock timed out. Obviously his life didn't get in the way last night.

Thanks renesauz. I appreciate that interpretation. Unfortunately, I don't dare pick because I'm afraid that other people would get to have more picks than me with the valuable information about which restricted free agents re-sign with their teams and which don't. This is extremely important to my draft strategy, and has been since day one. I'm sorry if that holds up the draft, but the good news is that it should hold it up less than Jeff's move did earlier, when he used a combined twenty one hours. ANYONE would do this, because it's such an obvious tactical move.

Thanks renesauz. I appreciate that interpretation. You've timed out. We're moving on with or without you.

Hi Jeff. Good to see that you have enough time to be here at midnight last night when I timed out and 9 this morning when you decided I'm supposed to pick. In fact, I can't remember one single time when you weren't here to make your pick, except the two times you timed out to waste a whole day for us so you could see the schedule. I guess I'm a little confused at why you're not trying to help me here. I'm just trying to use my clock to get information on the restricted free agents that are getting signed. I'm more than a little surprised that you'd consider picking, when you'd be giving up that valuable information for a whole pick.

Good morning fred.So nice to see you too.

I'd just like to point to you that, with your concerns about life getting in the way, I was up all night worrying about you.

In consideration of what could possibly be wrong, I decided to defer posting my picks when the rules are clearly saying that you've timed out, but I thought that I would give you some of my clock just in case and wait until you got here in the morning.

Glad to see that you are all right.

Take your time.

In the interest of speeding things up, and so as to not make anyone miss time during the actual work day, I will take Darren Sproles, RB SD. I hope the majority of you were not inconvenienced.

You still don't get it, do you?Jeff never timed out...he simply waited a few hours past when he could have physically made his pick. We accepted your objection to that, even though not everybody agrees with you. Bass accepted it, and gave the "wronged parties" (you and I) an opportunity to make new picks, to keep things fair in your eyes. We aso acknowledged that in future drafts we will account for that specific situation in some manner, most likely by stopping the draft at a turn. You made your point then, because even those who disagreed with you understood (and accepted) your point enough to agree to concessions for future drafts. You truly have made a mountain out of a molehill, and you're making it much worse now. you've been an accepted and respected member of this community for a long time, and you're better then this.To further complicate matters, you DID NOT play within the rules when you purposefully timed out. (Jeff MAY have been unethical in some eyes, but he was definately inside the rules.) And you did so in a petty manner just to prove a point that WE AS A GROUP, AND BASS AS THE TRUE COMMISH HAD ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED and attempted to rectify. To be honest, were I Bass, I would kick you out of this and all future drafts...because you PURPOSEFULLY IGNORED the rules. Jeff did not.

Incorrect. I didn't ignore the rules at all. The rules clearly account for what happens if you don't make your pick in the designated timeframe, and you were right there to make sure you got your pick in when it happened. I did expect clarification on the rules, but that's a different story. And I held up the draft far less than I could have. If I'd wanted, I could have picked at 11:50 last night, then had us waiting until 4pm today. Instead, I only delayed the draft overnight, and started it back up again at the start of the working day. I didn't get a PM from you after your pick, by the way, even though you said you had time to PM your next pick to Jeff just in case. I might have done things differently if I had realized I was up before the end of the working day. But I didn't know it was my pick until late evening.

Just time me out from here on. I don't need drama in a freaking free mock draft.

I'll check in eventually and make my make-up picks.

I'm pretty sure I did PM you, but just cleared my boxes and can't verify. If I didn't, then I apologize. Forgive me for beleiving that, based on your tone, actions, and statements, it probably wouldn't matter if I did one way or the other. It's pretty clear to me that you prefer to pretend you don't understand the clock rules for the turn. You have eight hours, period, for both picks. Time out on the first pick, you don't get a new clock. Make a pick at 7 hrs and 59 minutes..you don't get another eight hours for the second.

I know you understand that because you're a smart guy. You're being petty, and you're purposefully being difficult. Worse, you won your initial appeal, but are acting this way simply because not everybody agrees with you.

For what it's worth, I actually agreed with your initial protest, just not the intense over-reaction you displayed. But that's immaterial now, because you're still acting petty and childish.

O...and I made my pick last night, and PM'd Jeff to make his in order to get the draft moving, not to be mean.

Guys, 4 rounds left. We should be done quickly from here on out.

I'll let BNB clean up the timeout situation once he returns this weekend.

holy #### is this a cluster

i cant believe fred would make such a big deal over a free league just run for fun

Just woke up. If the pissing match wouldn't have happened, I probably would have been able to pick last night. Oh well.

17.05 Andre Davis

17.14 Mewelde Moore, PIT RB
I was wondering when he was going to go. I have no idea how Pittsburgh's going to use him. Might be the steal fo the draft or get you zero points the whole season. Good pick in the late seventeenth

I figure I only need him for one week, when Edge and MJD are on a bye, anything I get is gravy.
17.15 Kurt Warner, QB, ARI
I'd been considering Warner for a LONG time now, potential top 10 QB is a steal here.

Just realized the last D left (Atlanta) shared the same bye as Philly.

Week 4 lose 3 of my top 4 RBs and 2 WRs

Week 6 lose both QBs

Week 7 lose both Ds

Week 9 lose WR1 and WR2

Gonna be a short year.
