I'm so disheartened by what happened over the weekend. This thread is riddled with a lot of toolish posts and I am going to call out FavreCo for being extra toolish in wishing Henne goes down in not just this thread but the other Henne thread circling about. He'll say he isn't but the insinuation that Henne will go on IR when he faces the Jets is pretty outlandish IMO. Penny was hurt in a nonviolent type play where he really wasn't hit that hard. Furthermore the OL for Miami has been kickin butt the last 2 weeks and can pass protect just fine, LT Jake Long made the pro bowl as a rookie. I don't think any Dolphinfan that I have seen on this board has wished for Mr Sanchez to take a spill...you're flimsy board credibility is only damaged further by your posts. Good luck to the Jets...
But back on point here. I am really sad for Pennington, he did so much with so little and even this year he was completing a ton of passes and I don't fault him one bit for Miami being 0-3...it wasn't him. Miami has virtually no waepons to throw to...Bess, Camarillo, Hartline, those guys don't start for anyone in this league. Ginn is at best a WR2 or WR3 although maybe Henne can exploit his speed but he is a far cry from a #9 pick, unreal.
I see a lot of problems in Miami and it bleeds a lot further than the fact they don't have a playmaker anywhere on this team. I'm not even sure Ronnie Brown is all that at RB...he never seems to break any really long runs or makes any awesome plays...yeah he moves the ball some, he makes some first down runs, but other than that NE game last season, when and where has he been a dominant runner? He is sporadic I would say.
Miami was likely not going to win a lot of games this year but I wanted to see Pennington brought back with the idea that they would add some more pieces next year...now I am afraid Pennington is done in Miami and maybe even the NFL. I do think Pennington will go on and coach, maybe not the NFL to start although I don't think he could be any worse than some of the drudge we have witnessed the past 5-10 years around the NFL as it is quickly turning into a hockey/basketball situation where coaches are not being given 4-5 years to make it happen.
Henne is not ready, every NFL team passed on him at least once and most twice, he doesn't have a lot to work with...I could see Miami easily go 3-13 now. And all that means is they have tie up abig money at one position of many that they need to still address and I believe there is a correalation between teams that are always picking top5 and continuing to lose, locking up big contracts and money in a couple of positions is a dicey situation. I like Jake Long but 60 Million? $150 Million we have locked up on that OL? We need help at Safety, ILB, OLB soon(age), DT/NT, WR1, WR2, QB still, RB(Brown contract expires, Ricky is old)...things seem very awful today.
