Isn't this about the 10th quote from this guy alreadY??? Get used to it Seattle because he's just getting started. It's yet to be proven that he can handle the deal at the NFL level. We suffered the blowhard here in NE and were glad to see him go. The press conferences will be excruciating!! The opposite of Belichick ("... we competed today..." lol ;) But at least Belichick can coach. Seattle could be in for a rough ride!

at least you don't have the walrus driving the franchise into the ground anymore!

I haven't heard him much, but he was interviewed a couple of days ago on Sirius and I think that Tim Ryan and Par Kirwin only asked him about four questions in twenty minutes. He reminded me of a radio version of the Energizer Bunny, just kept on going and going.

He's always been a strange dude. His style worked well with college kids who had a huge talent advantage over the competition. We'll see how it plays in the NFL. He took the Seattle job to escape the college ranks before the stuff he knew was coming finally hit the fan at USC.

He wasn't the greatest Gm but it was Ruskell that took a SB team and turned it into a 4-12 mess. And I don't care how bad Carroll might be, I happen to think that he's probably a little different than he was then, but I'd rather have Mike Tice than Mora Jr.

Why are you so bitter? You need to let things go. He's done a great job in Seattle so far and I enjoy a coach that is vocal, interesting, and in the media. This is the first time in the NFL where he has had control of the show, I think he will do VERY well. Nice dress sweats BB.

One thing Michael Irvin said on the radio the other day was........ "Pete gets respect because he has hardware". These NFL players grew up w/ USC dominant. He has respect, he has hardware.

This is a screwball thing to post. Holmgren was 51-29 from 2003 to 2007. He won five division titles and took them to a Super Bowl. WTF is wrong all these idiots who keep trashing Holmgren. Piss off already.

Michael Irvin is a crack head. Dont listen to anything he says. Pete Carroll wont amount to much in Seattle.

I think you are both right...he is a little odd in his methods, but when he did it 15+ years ago, he was a nobody...with that said, his NFL teams were not particularly good, but they weren't abysmal. He wasn't horrible for the Jets, but the fact that he seemed complacent sealed the deal for him...now with the hardware in his pocket, it will be looked at as cerebral.

Why won't Carroll amount to much? Expand on that please.

anyone criticizing him, need to understand his philosophy before they drop these bombs. Pick up "Win Forever", read it, then come back and talk smack...he's obviously learned a lot of things since his previous NFL stint. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and take a wait and see approach.

I don't buy this at all. Spurrier had the hardware too and Stephen Davis was screaming in his face the first time the Redskins trailed in a game.

Before going to the Redskins Spurrier's only professional experience came with the Tampa Bay Bandits. Carroll, on the other hand, grew up in the NFL with Buffalo, Minny and then the NYJ and NE where he had HC gigs. That's a ton more pro experience than Spurrier had. Therefore you can't really compare the two.

Is there a chance that Carrol could have learned from mistakes?

A couple of years ago, Miami fans were quick to say how terrible Rick Spielman was in Miami but I can't complain about the job he has done in Minnesota.

No, nobody learns from 10 years of experience. Im the same person on the job today that I was when I first started my career.
