Peyton Manning Team in Your League (1 Viewer)

it doesn't take peyton manning to win, in one league the manning team is 3-4, and my team with Kaepernick is 6-1... QB is not the only part of the equation.
I'm not saying that - what I am saying is the guy who took Peyton has a huge advantage over every other owner, even Brees or Rodgers... You start Kraep, he starts Peyton - off the bat he was a 20 point head start, if this owner drafted even somewhat intelligently, he should be dominant.
I see what you are getting at, I totally agree having Peyton this year is like walking into a matchup with 20 points before you start lol
I did the math, and in my league's scoring format, having Peyton gives you a +8.8pt advantage over the average QB1 any given week.
4 pt TDs?

My league:

Peyton 37 per game

Brees 28

Rodgers 27

Ryan 26

Stafford 25

Rivers 24

& so on

However you look at it, huge advantage .

5-2 .... 12 teamer is 3d overall record. 3rd in scoring

5-2 .... 14 teamer 3rd overall record. 4th in scoring.

5-2 .... 16 teamer is tied with 2 others as 2nd/3rd/4th best record. 2nd in scoring

In our league PM owner is 0-7

they have lost at least 2 games by less than a point.

rest of lineup as of today:

Bowe

Micheal Floyd

Foster

Lamar Miller

Mike Williams

Cameron

And Phil Rivers on the bench (who they will not trade WTF)

9th in scoring out of 12

most points against

Currently one of 2 league leading teams at 6-1. The other one has Jimmy Graham, and both Julius and Demaryius Thomas. Fun part is they're both in the same division hehe...

In the 3 leagues I'm in, the Peyton owners are a combined 17-4. (None of them are me.)

Moral of the story: Any time you can land the VBD leader in the 4th round - no matter what position he plays - you can have a completely average draft otherwise and still dominate your league.

unless your teams points against > the league leader in points scored.

Had him and was 6-0 until I met the other 6-0 team in our league, now 6-1 but still looking strong. I think almost every league the team is at least 5-2 or better with him, it's almost impossible not to do well.
Dear God. This shows a complete lack of understanding with regard to basic statistics. No wonder you thought pizza came in linear increments.

A given advantage at any position will yield a win total slightly above the mean assuming the rest of the rosters are fairly normally distributed.

7-0

First place by huge margin

Manning, cam newton

Mccoy, moreno, woodhead, Gio bernard

Dez, demarius thomas, jordy nelson, denarius moore

Gates, cameron

May be best team ever assembled in league history

In my league that team is 6-1 and in first place. Took Manning in the 4th round. 2nd place in points. Also has Knowshon and Decker for a trifecta.

I don't own him, but the guy in my league that has him is 4-3 in 5th place, 3rd in total points.

I'm in too many league to list them all, but in the one I have him, a 14-team auction league, I am 6-1 thanks to having not only Peyton, but Charles, Fred Jackson, Decker, Blackmon and Jordan Cameron. Still have Percy Harvin stashed for the stretch run, too.

In our local $200 auction league, the guy with Peyton is 9-12 (we play three games a week). The funniest part was him going 0-3 Week 1 despite Peyton's 7 TD passes. His RB worth a darn is Bernard (he has Davis Wilson, too, but we all know how that has turned out), and his best WRs are Dez and Antonio Brown. He did just get Gronk back, so he is not out of it yet, but he needs Dez and Gronk to be huge nearly every week.

I'm in 2 yahoo 10 team standard leagues. In one league Peyton owner is 6-1 (1st place) and has had the 2nd fewest points scored against him. In the other league the Manning owner is 1-6 (10th place) and has had the most points scored against him ( 801). In that league I've had the 2nd most points scored against me (746) and I'm in 4th place.

I'm in a league that starts a QB at superflex. I have Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. I am first in points scored (1220) and am in 7th place with a 3-4 record. The next highest point scoring team has 1100 points and is 3-4 in 8th place (this guy beat me in week 1 even though Manning threw 7 TDs)!

I think a lot of it just has to do with luck.

He's on my team in one league and I am 7-0 despite starting David Wilson or Chris Ivory in 3 of the first four games. I snagged Julius Thomas off the WW week 1 which compounds the Peyton scoring. Having ADP, AJ Green, Marshal, Blackmon (and Julio for part of the season, before trading him for VJax) has also helped.
Is this redraft? If so, I assume you drafted number 1 for ADP - How do you wind up with Julio, Marshall, & AJ - Did Marshall fall to you in the 4th? I thought my receivers were stacked with Dez, Marshall, & Blackmon, but wow - that is a nice team you have. Anything short of title with that roster will be a disappointment.
Contract, dynasty league. I had the 2nd and 3rd overall picks a couple years ago and drafted both AJ and Julio. Peyton I got in a deal last year to save a guy money so he could take someone off the WW. I've had ADP for about 5 years now. His contract was up when he tore his ACL so I got him back for next to nothing because nobody thought he would do anything last year. And Blackmon (and a 1st rounder) I got for Spiller last year.

All that being said, I literally have no depth at RB. My 2nd and 3rd RB's are Matthews and Woodhead. This week I'm starting ADP and Turbin at RB.

His mom and grandma are part of the league.
10 team dynasty league running since 2000. $32 million dollar salary cap, restricted free agency, transition and franchise tags (with first round pick compensation), 2 year contracts with 1 option year. We have a yearly Free Agent Night where we bid auction style on players not under contract and then a traditional rookie draft of 7 rounds.

In order to make a trade in this league, you have to have a lawyer, team of accountants and an abacus as 1st rounders carry extra weight because they are required to be in your possession just to make a bid on a tagged player and often deals are squashed not because of talent but because of salaries of the players against the cap.

I am 3-4 in the one league I have Peyton ($225 auction, nabbed him for $15!, but...also paid like $45 for Spiller)

Other teams' records in leagues which I do not own him:

2-5

4-3

3-4

I will never, ever draft a QB before the 5th rd, or spend that much $ on one again. Like, ever.

5 - 2, tops in points, RB's are killing the team though

Manning

Martin/Murray/Miller/JBell

BMarshall/DemThomas/Garcon/Blackmon/Hopkins/Hartline

VDavis/JReed

Peyton owner is 4-3 in one of my leagues. He also has AD. Always scary going against him. Luckily I played him Week 6 when they both had bad weeks.

10-team redraft, no PPR:

6th place at 3-4. 5th place in overall scoring.

Took Charles in the first and then got killed in rounds 3-7 with Roddy, McFadden, Amendola, Daniels, and Luck (WTF). So basically almost no production out of those spots.

16-team keeper, small PPR:

Tied for best record overall at 6-1. 2nd in overall scoring.

Why? Seems to me that spending that much money on a QB was not your problem. If you got Peyton for only 15 bucks and still don't have a winning team, then botching the rest of your auction was the problem, not spending money on a QB.

Spot on... Getting Peyton for $15 should give you a HUGEEEEEE advantage over the rest of your league.
