Peyton Manning's worth in Dynasty? (1 Viewer)

Traded M.Jones-Drew & Hasselbeck for him towards the end of last year. I was stacked at RB and could afford to move Jones-Drew.

In order to get Peyton Manning, I would give up any RB other than Tomlinson, Jackson, Gore, Parker, or Westbrook (in no particular order). If we're talking PPR, I'd add Bush to the list of RBs I'd prefer to Manning. I would also take Manning as high as 1.06 overall in an initial dynasty draft. To me, his value is comparable to that of Laurence Maroney.

I would not give up Carson Palmer and a top WR in order to get Peyton, but only because I don't think the gap between Palmer and Manning is that great. If I were to trade Palmer + a WR for Peyton Manning, I would trade any WR except for the following: Smiff, Chad Johnson, Holt, Wayne, Fitz, Walker, Evans, or Roy Williams.

Obviously, if you want to know what I'd be willing to trade Peyton Manning FOR, then just reverse the preceding statements. Anything that I would not be willing to trade AWAY to get Peyton is obviously something that I would be willing to trade Peyton away to get. Furthermore, it should go without saying, but all of this depends on league scoring and what my roster looks like- if I have Drew Brees as a backup, I'd probably trade Manning for Maroney. If I had Charlie Frye as a backup, I probably wouldn't even open discussions unless I was getting a solid QB in return.

How far ahead is he on Carson Palmermaybe Manning for Palmer and a solid WR
You have asked this now twice, so I will answer your question with a question...If you had LT, and the SJax owner came calling, what would it take for you to even consider trading Tomlinson? It's a similar canyon: one (Manning) has proven year after year what he can do. The other (Palmer) is very good and might end up being great, but is that worth the risk? Same with the LT/Jackson scenario.Frankly, I think I would select Manning 1st overall in a dynasty startup. You'll get 6 or 7 top-notch years out of him and rarely/never have to worry about his health. With an RB, you might get 3 or 4 of the same top-tier years.

I'd be very tempted to go with Manning in the top half of the first, and I'd argue a similar case for Antonio Gates solidly in the 2nd in Dynasty, but I couldn't take Manning #1 overall. Even if Steven Jackson only gets me 4 more good years, the top RBs are worth so much more than the top QBs that 4 years of S-Jax will probably be worth more than 6 years of Manning.Besides, there's another variable to consider- perceived value. I think it'd be pretty dumb to take Manning at #1 overall when, if you really liked him, you could just take Tomlinson #1 overall and then trade him for Manning (with some sort of throw-in). Hell, even if the throw-in is just some scrub picked in the 18th, that's more than you would have gotten if you'd just drafted Manning.

The LT situation scares me, How much longer can this stud team stay in tack? They won't be able to afford everyone, Harrison a HOF will soon retire as well.
