PFAPA (1 Viewer)

I'm a pediatrician and have diagnosed PFAPA a few times over the years. Have you seen your child's doctor to confirm the diagnosis?
Yeah, he denied it at first (due to lack of mouth sores). But when it occurred most recently, I took a pic of the mouth sore, forwarded to him, and he then referred us to a pediatric infectious disease specialist (Kaiser). We've had a phone appointment with that specialist. Our next step is to document anything related to this. Then two blood draws (one with the onset of a fever, the second after symptoms have gone away).

Overall, she's in great shape, a very healthy child (aside from this). It sucks to see her get sick and miss out on stuff, but it's some consolation to know that she's fine in-between episodes.
