PFT reporting Cutler has a broken ankle...................

CUTLER HAS BROKEN ANKLE?Early word on the NFL grapevine regarding Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler is that the second-year pro suffered a broken ankle on Sunday against the Lions.Cutler suffered the injury while being sacked early in the second quarter. He was replaced by Patrick Ramsey. The Broncos trail the Lions by a whopping 30 points in the third quarter.
Thought this deserved it's own thread for Cutler owners and Bronco fans to mourn.

It's looking more and more like this year is just going to be a developing year for all of the new young players... and now the most important young player is possibly gone for the bulk of the rest of the season. That's definitely sad.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Shanahan right now. This team has no aura about them anymore, and they have been downright dominated on several occasions. Time for a new leader?

I don't like Shanny but this season wasn't his fault imo, except for failing to address the inability to stop the run. That was my only question about this DEN coming into the season. They've just been decimated by major injuries. If Champ goes out that'll be just about the last of their best players. I think those DL lineman brought the "Browns injury bug" with them from CLE..... and now CLE>DEN.

Never. Ever. Never ever ever ever ever. Unless Bill Belichick or Tony Dungy express an interest in coaching for Denver (and more importantly, promise to bring Scott Pioli or Bill Polian with them), there's not going to be anyone available on the market who is an improvement over Shanahan. He might not be the very very best coach in the league (although he's still a damn fine coach), but there's no way the Broncos are going to do better. Besides, any time you switch coaches there's always a transitional period where the team is going to look... pretty much like it looks now. The Rooneys really have it right- the biggest key to creating a successful franchise is stability.Denver's bad this year. Shanahan hasn't forgotten how to coach. Remember, Cowher went 7-9 and 6-10 in back-to-back seasons for the Steelers, and was hosting the AFCCG two years later. He went 6-10 again later, then hosted another AFCCG the very next year, and won the superbowl the year after that. Imagine if the Rooneys had decided that the team was tuning out Cowher and that it was time for a new leader.
Xrays negative. MRI today.
MRI negative. Just a bruise (thank God!). Ramsey might get the start against the Chiefs, but Cutler will be fine to return this season.
