PGA Tour Thread: 2019 Season Ends (2 Viewers)

We all like Spieth?

Any Patrick Reed/Mickelson/Tiger esque non golf dirtbag traits?

I hope he wins the Master (unless someone links me to an article about him stealing from his teammates in college)

I think spieth is great. He's more vocal on the course but the emotion and fire behind it just seems real.

Rooting hard here for an up and down.

Good luck from here Spieth. I doubt Holmes makes but that won't be an easy up and down.

I like him as a young American, but not over guys like DJ and Fowler.

Mostly it is work-related...don't like Texas or Under Armour.

(Supposedly Nike fired someone who decided not to sign him for cheap.)

I still see his short putting as a gigantic problem, especially at Augusta. He's not ready to win there.

I like Spieth and think he might potentially be more talented than Rory in the years ahead, but I'm probably gonna pass on him in my Masters pool this weekend.

I know his last 3 regular tournament finishes have been T2, 2nd, and first. But the last two tourneys he has NOT looked very confident late on Sunday.

The way he grinded over that that 5 footer on 17 was painful to watch. He's fearless every else, but scared to death within 6-7 feet.

He didn't look too confident in keeping the ball in the fairway off the tee either. He was fortunate he didn't put the ball in the drink in playoff.

how about the putt on 18???
He's a great putter from those distances, and longer...not from inside 7 feet. When he does that looking-at-the-hole nonsense (but not always).

He's very good and we haven't seen his best yet, but no way do I see him reaching Rory's class. When Rory's ball-striking is on, he's unbeatable. He laps fields. Spieth hasn't come close to showing he has that gear.

Bubba is a #####. But who cares?

Who cares what Tiger does off the course?

Who cares what any athlete does in his own time?

I just want to be entertained and watch great athletes competing. I'm a fan of Bubba because of the way he plays golf. Guy has big stones and works the ball better than most golfers. He is a real joy to watch. I don't care if he is a #####.

Same here. My only issue with him is when he's a big drama queen with the crowd or his caddie.

I got an email last night with the values of the different golfers for this salary cap pool I'm in.

Rory is 35 bucks, bubba and Stenson 34, Seven other golfers are 30 bucks or more. 125 cap

Tiger is one of roughly 15 golfers at 5 bucks (lowest price tag).

Ha, I had been once before on Sunday when Watson won the first time. It was the top item on my bucket list and I jumped at the chance then. I actually won the ticket lottery last year for Monday but it was rained out. Because of that, they auto-enrolled everyone from that day to get tix again so it was my first ever practice round (and second day there overall). It's a completely different vibe during the practice rounds - everyone had cameras, there was lots of cheering for guys skipping the pond on 16, etc... I spent 20 mins watching Graeme McDowell hit approach after approach on 11. He only hit the green on those maybe 3 times with a few splashing and a majority bailing out to the right (that's him on the left pitching onto the green in the first couple of pics).

Like that spot in the pines on 13. That's probably where'd I'd park it after walking the course first thing.

Tiger looked good yesterday. He's a steal at his odds right now.

Is that chute at 18 as narrow as it looks on tv?
Moreso - the thing about both 11 and 18 off the tee, it's like 200 yards before it opens up. They can't be more than 20 yards wide until they open up. I'd say those are the only two like that. For the most part on the rest of the course you can really let it rip. Missing the fairway isn't as big of a deal there as most places either honestly. The 2nd cut is as nice as some of the fairways I play on. Obviously fairway is nice because it's important to put it on the greens in the proper spots, but it's not like a US Open where missing the fairway is an automatic bogey.
