Philly continues its great rep... (1 Viewer)

I get annoyed with all the unwarranted America hate that gets thrown around, but we deserve this one. if those video bloggers who were the last to see him really left the robot on a bus bench at 2AM, it's probably not too surprising that he got mugged & mutilated.

between this and the batboy story, I'm all out of sad today. :(

What could go wrong?

Big swing and a miss to not overlay "Fly, Eagles, Fly" audio into that video clip IMO.
It's so typical imo, just the casual hatred. Probably saw the thing smiling and had to destroy it. It sounds ridiculous but I do think it's the proximity to NYC and lack of Super Bowls. I tell my in laws all the time that I hope they win one soon, because it's an amazing feeling. They hate even that sentiment even though they know it's sincere, because they can't relate to it. It sounds condescending. They're proud yet have an inferiority complex all at once.

I used to think that was it as well. Then the Phillies won the World Series. I went to Philly the following summer for the Red Sox 3 game series. The fans were still the same intolerable cretins. Outside the stadium after one of the games a car full of guys drives by me and my 7 year old son. We were both wearing Red Sox shirts. The guy in the front passenger seat says , "Go back to Boston" and throws a half full beer can at us and sprays my son with beer. Classy bunch. That robot should have known better.

I went to a Rams game up there, when the Rams were horrible and never had a chance. Eagles won by three touchdowns, but that didn't stop the mob from tackling a guy and his little boy, both wearing Kurt Warner jerseys, and urinating on them and ripping the jerseys off and burning them. I saw two Philly cops walk by and snicker. It was awful.

They'll leverage those jerseys in hell, those Philly fans.

At least they weren't raped. Must have been the 3rd TD that softened the mob up a little.

I had a friend get sucker punched in the face the night the Phils won the World Series while on the streets of Philadelphia. He was wearing a Phils hat.

Dude, my wife and I witnessed first hand the douchyness of Red Sox fans. Drunk Boston women were starting fights in the stands unprovoked. I had to remind one drunk guy and his "girlfriend" that he was the visitor in the stadium. After the Sox took the lead he was turning to crowd, tugging at his jersey and looking to take people on. So, it goes both ways.

The worst visiting fans I've seen at CBP? Easily the Red Sox.

I went to the first home game against DAL after 9/11. The overwhelming feeling of community and brotherhood in the country at that time didn't stop a bunch of about 50 grown men from chanting "### HOLE AND #### YOU" to a dad and his son wearing a Cowboys jersey.

Mets fans are pretty bad. I was once at a game where they called Bobby Abreu a terrorist (around 2004ish). You know cause he looked like an Arab.

Have to say, I've been to many Phillies/Mets games and always had a good time with their fans. Never a problem for me. Been to a couple vs. Boston and just obnoxious. You could just tell they were looking to start crap and then complain about their harsh treatment by Philly fans.

The Sarge reaction here makes this, "Ohhh my, you don't want to mess with that guy, Tom." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csCoRol4OiQ

To say "I hate Philly fans" or "People from Philadelphia are #######s" is pretty much the same as saying "I hate :insertracialgrouphere:".

It's just not fair or right, imo.
