Michael Vick has rib cartilage injury, LeSean McCoy broken rib

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 4, 2010 12:07 PM ETEagles coach Andy Reid says quarterback Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury but not a broken rib, while running back LeSean McCoy did suffer a broken rib against the Redskins on Sunday.

"Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury," Reid said at his press conference today. "There are no broken bones, but he does have a rib cartilage injury. It's up high in the second and third ribs. LeSean McCoy has a rib fracture and they're doing some further tests on that but right now he has one rib fracture."

Reid couldn't confirm a time frame for Vick's return, other than, "We'll just see how he feels."

Reid also confirmed that receiver Riley Cooper and cornerback Asante Samuel suffered concussions, but he didn't seem to expect either player to miss much time.

"If there's any good news on this, their concussions seem to be mild," Reid said.

The McCoy injury took me by surprise.Don't a lot of rbs play through this sort of thing?
Reid said that he could potentially put some padding on it and play. Also, Reid did not rule out Vick playing this week. He said that if he is as sore on Wednesday as he is today, then Kolb would get the first-team reps in practice.
