"Go with my gut" has "enjoyed" a dramatic jump in popularity in recent years as the go-to phrase whenever someone on reality television is faced with a choice and articulates the rationale for that choice. Insidiously, I'm now hearing this in actual life settings as well. I agree that going full open kimono on open kimono is a good idea, though. I'll check with offdee's black friends.

Background: asking her if we should move forward with a consultant's proposal, she asks if she's seen it, I forward it to her with the email I sent her 2 weeks ago and she says "Oh right... I've slept since then.". TF?

Reminds me of "forewarned" and "warned". Just say, "warned". There are no postwarnings. That would be worthless. So forewarned is not useful.
