Phrases/terms that need to be retired immediately (1 Viewer)

my MIL has boiled "isn't it" down to "ain't it" but when stated sounds like "ain-uh?"

most of her word salad is decipherable but sometimes she devolves in to combining words into.... sounds that have taken time to work out.

i could do without "ain-uh"
When it's time to say "isn't it" to her... just say "######".  When she questions it... tell her you're just trying to speak her language.

if/when we hole it up, we should bring the MILs.

mine has a proximity sensor and starts into a loop of 1 or 2 talking points prefaced by "well" and "I don't know" with a perpetual suffix of "you know what I'm saying"

walk within 15'... "well, I don't know... that cow got loose again... yep. loose as corn. MY LANDS... that cow got loose. you know what I'm saying."

Tonight's event has been redirected to next week.

Kid you not, they refuse to use "cancelled" or say "not meeting this week." If something that normally happens isn't meeting at its regular time/place, it's been redirected.

Tell me about it.  I have to book a "well woman exam" instead of just getting a yearly exam at the doctor's.  That stuff can make you crazy.

One that's always bothered me is when some celebrity "poses nude" but covers up their bits .  Unless I can see your #### or ##### it's not nude to me

What the bleep is this af thing?  I don't get it at all.
Yer dumb af

you are dumb as a word that rhymes with schmuck

ETA... Trying my best to use the af in native brohammer lingo. Does not reflect my actual opinion

literally - people don't seem to be able to put together a sentence without using this word anymore

also, nothing burger - so dumb

I hereby strenuously object to "AF"

It can be usefulAF when used in the proper context and with the proper audience.

Don't be afraid to embrace (see what i did there?) the new trends, fellas.

Not a phrase or a term but likely belongs here... but upspeak and vocal fry drive me insane.

In case you need info:

Vocal Fry

Upspeak

I've been at a new job for just over a month and the chick that sits next to me has both in the worst of ways.  It's insane.

In the sanitariest of worlds and corporatism and firings, upspeak is the great leveler.

UPSPEAK FOREVER!
