I'm going to preface this with a quick "I know a 12th pick thread exists". But I want to look at it from another angle, as we are closer to the season.
The 12th pick (of 12) was my dream spot one month ago, if I didn't get the benefit of a top 4 pick. Things seemed to be on track for a DMC/Forte combo. Potentially two top 5 back in your stable at the 12 spot is a dream com true.
But then armaggedon arrived. TRich, down. Mathews, down. DMC, unleashes the beast. Forte, ADP skyrockets.
What just happened? I'll tell you what just happened... That Forte/DMC dream just became Steven jackson/Marshawn lynch... good. not great.
Alas, I felt yesterday a minor revelation occurred. Adrian Peterson. Yup, his knee exploded like Peter North on set. But, it's Adrian Peterson, a machine.
Miles ahead of schedule for recovery, his ADP was ready to skyrocket with the likes of DMC and Forte (maybe not AS high, but up there...) until we got a "gift" from Leslie. No preseason. Ok, not a gift exactly, because we don't get to see how ready he is. But a gift nonetheless, as if you want to take a risk on one of the greatest RBs of the last few decades, he will be sitting pretty for you at the 12 spot. And for all intents and purposes, may be as close to healthy as possible.
We all know what a healthy AP is capable of. Are and of you suiting up for an AP swoop at the 12 spot? I never considered it until the last 48hrs. Now my heart seems set on it. AP sounds confident. Leslie sounds confident. I feel confident.
Could this be an ultimate RB scoop at the 12 spot? I think so. I know and feel the injury concerns, but I just get tingles in my stomach thinking I may walk out of the 1/2 with Peterson and J Jones. If there is one player in the NFL I feel can overcome anything and produce, it's AP.
Thoughts? Did the 12 spot just go from great, to crap, back to potentially great again?
(note: all 3 "stud" QBs will 110% be gone by 1.12 in my league, so Im speaking from that perspective)
