I know, I know, always start yer studs ... that being said, if you have close calls ...In tackle heavy leagues, dont you want to play your IDPs that are playing good offenses cause they will be on the field a lot thereby racking up the tackles and having more opportunities to make plays? And contra, I guess in big play heavy leagues start the IDPs that face really bad offenses that give up lots of sacks and ints?

That makes sense to me.
 
I'd say that that philosophy should be applied only to the defensive back 7, and the farther back you go in the defense the more true it is. You'll notice that in weak defenses a safety often leads the team in tackles, as opposed to the MLB. After all, good defenses tend to make plays in the offensive backfield not not miss tackles.
