Oct. 1, 2010 2:58 p.m. - RB Pierre Thomas (ankle) practiced on a limited basis on Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game vs. Carolina. Thomas missed practice the previous two days and his status is certainly iffy at best. Saints RapidReports
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports.../all_tags/todayThis guy has a radio show and attended practice all week, and he said he severely doubts Thomas plays.......that coupled with them signing Wynn off the practice squad leads me to believe that Thomas won't play.

Who's in line for the majority of reps? Ivory or Betts?
Don't have a link, but same person I quoted above said Ivory on running downs and Betts on passing downs (better pass blocker). Crapshoot on how that results in FP.
Don't they pass 60-70% of the time
yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Betts is gonna see a bunch of the potential points. I'm assuming Ivory on goalline carries. Just my thoughts here, but PPR I would probably start Betts.....and nonPPR Ivory. Just an educated guess, Like I said, crapshoot.

I know everyone's concerned about alternative options, but can we please keep the posts to injury related news?

See the OP's post:

We were keeping it related to injury-related news. If Thomas doesn't go, it matters to NO fans who will start.

No, they had very close to a 50/50 split last year, and vs. the Vikes. Not sure how it worked out vs the 9ers and Falcons.
85 passing plays to 65 running plays this year so for.Agree that 50/50 is where they'd like to be...but I don't think Peyton has that confidence yet.
Ok, that's +20 passing. But vs ATL it was +22 passing (and remember the OT and late 4th quarter drive). So that means SF & MIN were +2 RUSHING.Not predicting a continuation of that though because it's hard to imagine them relying on Betts/Ivory to literally carry the day.

per Adam Schefter:

Getting closer to a final answer, but it will be a surprise if Saints RB Pierre Thomas is active today.

OK he is OUT. Any word on who gets the start???
I'd roll with Betts. But keep your expectations low. They'll probably just pass even more, no?

I know the injury looked bad but he came back in the game. Then the coach said it was not a high ankle sprain. Meanwhile guy with turf toe, knee bruise, and groin strain all playing this week. Says alot about PT's toughness.

FWIW, CBS has tabbed Betts as the starter:

Ladell Betts, RB NONews: Saints RB Ladell Betts is starting against the Panthers Week 4 with Pierre Thomas inactive for the game. Chris Ivory might also see carries in the game.Analysis: Betts is not going to be asked to get a starter's share of carries with Ivory and DeShawn Wynn in tow. Betts is definitely going to get a major boost in Fantasy value with this news but we're not sure it is enough to warrant using him in Fantasy. At best, he is just a No. 3 Fantasy RB if you have Thomas and need a replacement in a pinch. Ivory probably has the higher upside.
ETA: Rich Eisen just said the opposite on NFL Network, and mentioned Chris Ivory as the starter.Doesn't really matter I guess, both will play.

ESPN pregame show saying Betts will be starting.
Jay Glazer just said RBBC.
Wasn't it RBBC with Bush and Thomas before both got hurt?Question is who, between Betts and Ivory, emerges into the role left vacant by Bush's injury? Can't figure that out.
Lance Moore.
