Pittsburgh at Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Can you go to someone else other than Steve Smith? WTF?
That was his drive. The way he was hauling in catches they wanted to give him a TD. That, and with a somewhat comfortable lead Harbaugh wants to move him around in the end zone. I think they will normally continue to target the Big TE's in that area. The designed passes to Smith Sr are a little trickery.

Smith is untouchable tonight, as in every time he gets touched the refs throw a flag.
Come on now. No matter what you think of the other calls, this one was obvious, an absolute no brainer.
no, a finger grazing a facemask is not a 15 yard penalty
wow. take off the yellow tinted glasses. The only reason Smith didn't score was the facemask
?? I 'd like to see the Ravens win. It was a bad call.

PS, they missed a personal foul call on the hard hit that caused a fumble just now.

Glad you are not an NFL official.

Can't get pressure on the QB -- Check

Can't cause any turnovers -- Check

Can't tackle -- Check

Can't really cover anyone -- Check

Tendency to turn the ball over a lot -- Check

I actually think this team has a legitimate shot to make the playoffs in the AFC

So..Phil Simms just basically said the steelers don't have the personnel to run the defense and the defense is an old hat trick that everyone has caught up to. Guess he don't like le beau
And he's probably right. Nothing but respect for LeBeau. HOF and all time great figure in the NFL.

But he's damn near 80 and his players are old. End of an era.
 Starting D and their ages

Keisel (35) , McClendon(28), Heyward (25)

Timmons (28), Shazier (22), Jones (25), Worilds (26)

C Allen (26) Ike Taylor (34) M Mitchell (27) , Polamalu (33)

Keisel, Tory, and Ike are the only “old” players, and Keisel and Troy are still playing at a high level. The Steelers are having issues on defense, but the players being old is not the issue.

C. Allen could have turned this game around with a pick 6 if he catches that ball clean... but of course he didn't even make the catch.

Clearly, the solution here is to expand the NFL playoffs. Right?

Agreed. The question is, are the problems they're having fixable this year?

Ok then, 3 of the guys who are supposed to be good are old and the rest just aren't that good.

The other problem the Steelers have, as usual, is the offensive line. Gilbert is like a matador. And that play where Dumerval knocked him over was just sickening.

Let's face it people, steelers beat an awful browns team barely. It's going to be a long year. And wow if pierce can't score against this def, drop him . He looks terrible, only enjoyment I've had this evening

Do you think Troy is playing at a high level? Don't see him play that much, but he seems to make very few impact plays anymore. I used to live in fear of him blitzing Flacco, now I don't even worry about it

That first half against the Browns looks like a complete fantasy given the play since then. Steelers D still below average and hasn't learned how to tackle.

Hopefully they'll expand to 14 teams in each conference. "So you're saying there's a chance"

I can see why the Ravens aren't interested in Lamichael James. When you have a talent like Bernard Pierce, it's best to just back away and let the man work his magic.
