Play-offs schedule (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I love playing in our Head to head league and our playoff schedule fixes the one weakness this type of league has. That weakness you could have a great team but not make the playoffs due to several times during the season you play a weak team that has his highest score ever against you. Two of these type games can knock you out of the playoffs. It can be frustrating to have the third or second highest score for the week and still lose.

What our league does is set up two wild card teams that make it to the play-offs by total starting points.

We have two divisions, 5 teams each.

Week 13 regular season ends.

Both first place teams of each division receive a bye the first week of the play-offs guaranteeing them money. This rewards the teams with the best head to head record.

Both second place teams of the division are in the play-offs

Two wild card teams get in which is determined by Total Starting points. They could come from same division.

Week 14 is wild card week. Seeding is done by record

Winners of week 14 proceed to week 15, four teams seeded by record

Winners of week 15 are in the super bowl week 16.

Losers play it out for 3 and 4th.

We dont play week 17.

We pay out 50%, 25%, 15%, 10% only 4 teams win money even though six teams make the play-offs.

So it is sorta a hybrid league. The only time starting points come into play is determining wild card teams. The first place teams are rewarded by getting a bye the first week of the play-offs. It also keeps teams active for the whole year. You could be having a bad year by beint the team winning the "highest points against" award and still have a chance to make the play-offs.
