Players that absolutely will not make your team (1 Viewer)

Discounting the obvious undraftables (like backup TEs or some of the very worst starters), I know someone will want these guys more than me, so even though in an auction league you can draft anyone and most of these have potential to be worth drafting, even great, no way will I end up with the following, either due to being an injury risk, overpriced, etc:

DEN RB

N.O. RB

CLE WR

MIN WR

Walker

Any CHI player

Any MIA player

Cadillac Wms

DD

P Manning

McNabb

McNair

Boldin

Wayne

K Jones

J Jones

Won the championship last year in a rout and I am going out on top. Just flat too busy this year with work and kids' ball, etc.

Anyway, here's a few things that I wouldn't do and I recommend you do the same:

1. Don't draft Fred Taylor. I mean, unless you can get him for RB 4 in the 11th round or something. Absolutely do NOT depend on him for an RB 1 or 2 spot.

2. Do not draft a QB prior to round 7. Yes, a QB or two per year will way outperform this. However, there are just not enough RBs to go around to have it make sense.

3. Do not draft a Broncos RB.

4. Other players in general that I won't have on my team: Aaron Brooks (I know, I know, yada yada yada), Kevan Barlow, or Brett Favre.

I tend to avoid players from teams. Teams I am avoiding this year are SFO, DET, NYJ.

Also Julius Jones, Gonzo, Trent Green, DEN RB, TEN RB (have some in dynasty from last year though), CAR RB (unless you get the whole backfield which I have done in one dynasty), R Moss, Porter, CHI WRs & QBs, Andre Johnson & Eric Moulds, Carr.

My Draft last year: T. Bell - 5.02 (other owner)M. Anderson - 16.06 (by me) Never say never... A. Brooks 10.06 (by me) :bag: OK, ALMOST never say never...

Peyton Manning

Steve Smith

Kevin Jones

Julius Jones

Donovan Mcnabb

Bulger

Brees

Anyone from the Jets

Willy Parker-overpriced IMO

Reuben Droughns-same as Parker

Reggie Bush-in a redraft league

Curtis Martin

Deshaun Foster

Santana Moss

Deion Branch

Joey Galloway

Kevin Curtis

It seems to be the case with Taylor. Everyone avoids him because of the injury problems (rightfully so) and you can snag himi as a later pick. He'll get hurt, so I don't know if He and value belong in the same sentence, but he's probably the most talented RB on a fantasy team as a 3rd or 4th option.

Am I in trouble because I'm hoping some of these "never drafts" fall to me in later rounds? I'm sure Boldin or Santana Moss will fall to me in the 4th, Plummer and Brooks probalby in the 8th & 9th, and I'm targeting Dayne if he's there in the 6th. (Keeping Larry Johnson, Rudi Johnson, and Javon Walker--another "never draft!")

That said, I won't take a Detroit WR, Fred Taylor, Barlow, Gore, probably not Carolina RBs, and Eli Manning. Yes, I'd rather commitee Plummer and Brooks than have Manning and someone else.

For me, at least, this point of the thread, there are players who you value less than the norm and the chances of them falling into a point where you individually would draft them are pretty slim. I don't have any "never" drafts, but plenty of guys who would need to be two or three rounds below ADP (or in the $1 bin in an auction) for me to go near them.

I just can not handle the idea of yet another year of watching Aaron Brooks alternate between putting up 3 points/game in my lineup and 25 points/game on my bench.

Someone gets it, tyForgot FT. duh.
