Players that make you go 'wow' (1 Viewer)

I'll stick to fantasy options here.

QB:

Stafford - It's no surprise that I've loved this guy for a long while now. He has franchise QB written all over him IMO. Tough, smart, leadership, accurate, strong arm, can make any throw you want in his sleep, surprisingly athletic and can handle pressure. He's got it all... well almost. Det really needs to put an offensive line in front of this kid.

Henne - Another guy I've loved since he was in college. Not nearly as good at everything as Stafford IMO but I think Henne is going to make a great starter in the NFL.

RB:

Wells - A lot of people seem to be putting Wells on their list. Rightfully so. The guy is going to be a beast. He's struggled with injuries throughout a great portion of his football life though. I think that is the only thing that can stop him from becoming a stud. He's fluid in the hips, has great vision, runs with exceptional power and has the gear needed to get to the corner and not get caught.

Charles - There's been lots of discussion on Charles this past off-season and people seem to be very extreme one way or the other on him. Place me in the camp that believes in Charles. I was thoroughly impressed with Charles last year and he reminds me a lot of CJ in the way he runs.

Hardesty - Anyone who watched SEC football the last 2 years knows how tough of a runner this guy is. Tenn is in a pretty bad down period and this guy seemed to stand out every time I watched them play. He's deceptively quick and difficult to hit square and runs with great leverage and vision. I think he's a 300+ carry back in the NFL.

WR:

Wallace - Being a Steeler fan I was lucky to get to see a lot of Wallace last year. Despite his great rookie season he still seems to be an unknown commodity to many in fantasy circles. I think a lot of people like him simply because they look at his state sheet from last year but didn't get to watch him play much. He reminds me a lot of S. Holmes early in his career only he is more explosive, which is kind of scary.

Maclin - Often overshadowed by D. Jackson, Maclin doesn't seem to get the hype/credit he deserves. This guy can flat play football though. He runs great routes, catches the ball smoothly and can get behind defenses. Philly's got a great pair of WRs for Kolb to rely on.

Manningham - Another guy who is now getting overshadowed by other strong players on his team. Manningham is a great WR in his own right though and is maturing rapidly. Very raw and immature coming out of college, Manningham has made great strides in his 2 years in the league. He is remarkably quick in and out of breaks and has the speed to stretch defenses.

TE:

Gresham - Far and away the best TE in this years draft, I think he would have gone much higher had he not gotten injured and missed all of last season. The is a big (enormous actually, 6'5" 260) guy who is amazingly smooth as an athlete. He has great body control and soft hands, huge positives for a TE. I really hope this guy is fully recovered.

F. Davis - We saw glimpses of Davis' potential last year when Cooley went down. I've been a big fan of his since his days at USC. Much like Gresham this is a remarkable athlete for his size. Has more top end speed than most TE's in the NFL and just has a knack for getting open and making catches.

Guys who pass but aren't fantasy relevant:

Willis - The best defensive player in the NFL and has been since his rookie year. Lock for the HoF if he remains healthy.

M. Jenkins - Newman gets most the attention in Dal but this guy is playing at a Pro Bowl level.

Fred Jackson - This is mostly because I never really followed him and thought he was just a scrub backup but when I first watched him play I was amazed at how good he looked.

Beanie - His sick preseason run against GB had me hooked. If he didn't start the season out with fumble 'problems' he'd have been the main back a month earlier, ahead of a guy who fumbled twice as often lol.

Golden Tate - absolute stud after the catch, runs over and drags people like a RB and has great hands and speed. Unfortunately he's not exactly tall. I'll be very interested to see how he does in the NFL.

Brandon Gibson - nothing amazing but when watching the Rams it's hard not to be wowed when a player makes plays week after week with zero recognition as a rookie. He will be a very solid player if they give him a shot.

I think this thread has gotten off track here. Wasn't the intent to point out guys that have YET to reach STAR status?
Seriously. Does anyone really need people to tell them that Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson pass the eyeball test? Might as well point out that Barry Sanders and Randall Cunningham were pretty electric, too. I hear that Peyton Manning guy's actually pretty decent, as well.
Or Donovan McNabb. :)One guy that hasn't reached the fantasy radar, yet, but can fly and looks good-to-the-eye whenever he's featured (which is rare) is Jason Hill. Obviously, he's stuck low on the Niners' depth chart due to injuries/opportunities-seized-by-Josh-Morgan/etc., but if he ever gets traded or gets a shot as a starter, I think he is someone to watch out for.

This guy

Steve Smith (fractured arm) is willing to bet his game check that he'll be active and starting in Week 1 against the Giants.

There's little doubt Smith will be back as much as two weeks before the opener, and he has extra incentive against the Giants. Safety Michael Johnson laid the hit on him that resulted in his original broken arm late last season. "I'm going after him," Smith said. Johnson should be shaking in his cleats. Seriously.

Listened to a live radio interview a week or so ago where S.Smith CAR was asked about S.Smith NYG and evidently he has built up a little animosity towards NYG due to NYG now suggesting he has elevated to CAR's level.... NYG thinks they are now equals, and CAR is not having any of it....

Should be a very good game to play S.Smith Car...

In related news, water is wet.First guy I thought of was Beanie Wells. The term man among boys came to mind. Was not on the bandwagon until seeing him finally hit the field in preseason. Beanie quickly earned a spot on my fantasy roster based on the eyeball test.Felix Jones is a poster child for the eyeball test. He just needs more opportunity and less injury. In there lies the conundrum. Ben Roethlisberger makes amazing plays every game. It's just sick. Borderline water is wet here, but he stands out more than any other QB in the league for his ability to make plays out of nothing. Josh Cribbs is flat out amazing. It's not often a teams best player is a special teamer.

Darren Sproles for me. I know he'll never be a feature back, but the guy is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Amazing quickness, speed, and vision, and he's so tiny, it's difficult to get a clean hit on him. On numerous occasions, many against my Broncos, this guy has just left me in awe.
