playing at altitude - ARI V SF in Mexico City (elevation 7,218 ft) (1 Viewer)

Bob Beamon

By jumping 8.90 m (29 ft. 2.5 in), he broke the existing record by a margin of 55 cm (21+2⁄3 in.) and his world record stood for almost 23 years until it was broken in 1991

This is the sixth NFL game in Mexico City.

Have to believe the altitude will have some impact on stamina. It’s almost 2K higher than the Broncos home field.

so is the University of Wyoming. Sea-level teams routinely come to Laramie and play well. Yes, they are short of breath occasionally, but I don't think it will be a big deal, especially since neither team lives at altitude 24-7.

I think this helps Eli Mitchell for at least this week. Last week was a split and this week with the high Alt it makes even more sense to split carries. I have him starting in my flex but I doubt they run McCaffrey into the ground at high alt when 9ers have a deep playoff push in their sights.

Plus they’ll have oxygen on the sidelines.

IIRC it just means more of a defensive rotation with shorter increments. Players will come out for a puff of 02 & rotate back in.

I’ve read that many defensive players train with restrictive masks on to develop better lung capacity & endurance. I believe it’s called “hypoxic training”.

Offensive players do it as well.

All that said, MX games have been pretty normal from a FF standpoint. FG’s notwithstanding.
