I have Pat's D against Willie Parker. I could pick up Green Bay D but they would be stopping Fargas, there are a couple others i could pick up but same problem. what is your opinion on this? thanks.

If you're favored heavily in this matchup then match them up. If you're a big dog then avoid this situation. Even matchup...go with your gut on which defense will play the best.

I had the Bears against Portis. There were of course 3 possibilities for me:

#1 - D tanks and Portis goes big

#2 - Washington tanks and D goes big

#3 - D gets shredded by people other than Portis

I had a few other options but I played my studs. As a card carrying pessimist I assumed (correctly) #3 would happen but all I could do was grin and Bear it. I'm in a total points league so it equalizes better, but there is no way I could live with myself if I benched either one and Chicago pitched a shutout for big points or Portis throws down 3 TD's. Sometimes you just have to cover up and take the beating. Yeah, it takes guts to risk going after big points but at a certain point the risk becomes greater than the return.

No disrespect, but these threads make me crazy. The only imoact this has on you is the potential angst and stomach-churning you may experience if you are watching the game. select your best offensive options, select your best defensive options, press "submit line up". done.

I thought it was all the drugs you did in college. :coffee: To the OP -- I decide on a defense based on how I think they may handle the opposing QB because sacks, QB fumbles on sacks, fumble return TDs on QB sacks, INTs, and INT return TDs are what you're after, not whether this or that RB may get more yards.

The Packers vs. Fargas/CPep/Russell at Lambeau is a better play than the Pats vs. Roethlisberger IMO.

Forget the RBs involved.

Exactly. This is a ridiculous thread. It's not like your FF team is sharing a locker room. You simply go with the matchups. Simple, golden rule. Regardless of the circumstances.

My Bad, but I thought the #1 Golden Rule was to"Play your Studs"...#2 "Matchups"
