I won't bother posting my dynasty teams right now, but my main redraft league, I'm 8-1 in 1st place, but behind in overall points to 3 teams. Just looking through the rosters, there's a lot of teams with Manning at QB. I'd be curious to see if any other player is more strongly correlated with a good record/playoff position. God knows he has singlehandledly won games for me in the past 2 weeks.

And yet, the "Sharks" said go RB-RB, don't take a QB until round 6, etc.Looks like a lot of now.

But the ability to start 3 WRs instead of 2 RBs alleviates that a bit. Trent Green was killing me early in the year, but has come on. McMichael has been fine, so have Elam & the Bills.I think I'm solid for the playoffs as a wild card if I don't catch the guy in front of me - the only glaring draft mistake was taking Fred Taylor instead of Curtis Martin.

I can believe you're 5-4. You're pretty thin at WR and you've got QBs who started slow this year. While Davis was out/underperforming I'm guessing you weren't getting a lot of points from your flex position. The good thing is your patience with Green and probably Davis will have you laughing in the playoffs.

Have went 2-2 since however, which directly coincides with Brown and Dillon having injury issues and Pepper being withought Moss. Won a big game this past week though to maintain the division lead and with 5 games left(3 vs the "easiest" and lowest scoring teams), I'm 90% certain to gain a playoff berth if not a divisional title with a chance at winning my 3rd title in 6 years. But getting into the playoffs is and always is my goal and once there....anything can happen.Going to need Brown, Dillon and DJax to stay healthy...that's for sure. And it will make things alot easier if Pepper can even do 3/4's of what he did the first month.....we'll see how it plays out.-Max

I'm 7-2 in a ten person redraft. I currently have the best record and most points. I started off my draft with 4 runningbacks Alexander, Dillon, Brown, and then Dunn. Then I picked up Andre Johnson followed by Darrel Jackson then Jimmy Smith. I waited til round 8 to draft Trent Green. I picked up Rothelsberger, Stokely off waivers. I had rotating kickers for a while until I got Nate Kaeding who I had to drop this week because of a BYE but I plan on picking him up again.

The D players - Nick Barnett and Andra Davis were drafted although I reacquired Davis in a trade. Kerney was waiver and my DB's were both waiver wires.

My one trade this year was 2 weeks ago when I traded Darrel Jackson and Eugene Wilson for Antonio Gates and Andre Davis.

I like my team and I think I have actually managed it pretty well this year. I might be getting the hang of this.

I don't think anyone would be a shark if they held steadfast to a pattern like that while ignoring a player for value.I intended to do that almost every draft - RB-RB and wait on QB. However, I ended up with RB-WR-QB one league, RB-WR-RB in another, WR-RB-RB in a third . . . I won't ignore value in lieu of a planned strategy. Especially at the top of the draft.I would be highly unlikely to take either of the top QB in the first - or even up to the late second, but I considered them both as good value from about 2.11 on down since the impact RBs were gone, and I was only enthralled with the top-4 or 5 WRs (whiffed big on TO).

If your QB isn't named Manning or Culpepper, he's part of big bunch that are all pretty similar ultimately. I think most draft boards had those guys going somewhere between 11 and 24 which was reasonable at the time. This year they finally broke far enough away from the pack to matter and I'm sure next year's rankings will adjust for those 2 (and just those 2) accordingly - and even at that there are certainly contract issues in Indy that have to come to pass.Now that Green finally came around, I think my Green/Delhomme and Bulger/Green combos will serve me just fine.-QG

I don't agree with that. What I will agree with is that once you passed C-Pepp and Manning in your draft, it was wide open where the remaining QBs would end up.I would definitely say those who spent a relatively high pick on Bulger, McNabb, Favre or Brady (and now Green is coming around) are pretty happy, and those who spent a high pick on McNair, Vick, or Hasselbeck are kicking themselves.It's the same thing over in the WR world: Harrison Holt and Moss are still near the top (Moss gets an injury pass - he has never missed a game, so that one was unforeseen) and the next group of Ward, Owens and Chad Johnson meant the top 6 WRs went 5 for 6 success rate. The next batch from WR 7 through WR20 was a crap shoot, but now there are clearly a few desirable WRs who came from that group.I think there are definite differences in the QBs.

Started out with an even better RB Stable but did not have the backups. I started with T. Henry and Q. Griffin as well as C. Brown, D. McAllister and Pittman I have done some nice trading like picking up R. Smith for L. Gordon, then Keyshawn for K. Collins, then traded R. Smith and Keyshawn for A. Johnson. NET L. Gordon for A. Are you going ?VBD -- grab value where it happens. Manning fell to me in round 3. I took a lot of stock in Dodd's "the perfect draft" article, and ended up with 3 RB, 1 QB, and 2 WR at the end of round 6.My strategy in redraft is now a simpler make sure you have 2 or 3 RBs by the end of round 6, and don't necessarily go RB RB in round 1 and 2. I can't claim that this is original, either.Oh, and being lucky. Very important.

I'm 7-2 in a 12 team redraft with the team below in my sig. I went RB RB with J.Lewis and Edge and took McNair fairly late. I made a very daring trade of Jamal and Rice for Vick and Patten, hoping Vick starts turning it on by the playoffs when I may need some more QB help. Understand that w/o Jamal, I still have 2 RB studs starting every week with my choice of Edge, Tiki, Droughns and O.Smith. Also to help out at QB, I traded Keyshawn for Carr early on and have started a consistant Carr almost every week for awhile.

I've dared to let a lot of name players go to waivers. My thrown away team includes QB's McNair, Collins and Warner, RB Pittman, WR's Clayton (biggest regret of the bunch), Gardner, Toomer and Patten, TE D.Graham, DEF's Steelers and Broncos, and PK Vanderjagt. But I've filled their spots with the likes of future up and comers such as Droughns, Onterrio, Julius Jones, Boldin, Eli Manning, and McCardell, who are paying off already , or I optimisticly hope will be in a few more weeks.

Honestly the small roster size drives me nuts. I don't always want to let these guys go so quickly, but I usually find most of my moves to work out as upgrades in the long run. And my ww flurries seem to boost the others to be more active and occasionally let go someone who interests me.

Only 5 players - Edge (2nd), Tiki (4th I think), AJ (3rd I think), Bruce (5th I think), and Witten (some way late round) - remain from my drafted team. No small coincidence that they are the same ones that were my best value picks of my draft. I've been happy with how I've kept my depth fresh while discarding so many name players. Every year I tend to watch more news of everything throughout the league and make some moves before the others do. (Hence my latest pickups of Eli and JJones.) By grabbing Onterrio and Droughns to back Tiki and Edge, I'm now not missing Jamal really at all. (My latest ww temptation is Deion Branch, but I don't think that I will.)

All that said, lil' ol' undervalued-every-year Tiki has carried me more than anyone else though. Go Tiki go!

Good thing is other owner is not in my division. For last 4 games will be easy because #1 is 3-6, #2 is 1-8 #3 is 2-7 and finally #4 is 4-5. Number 1,2,4 is in my division (we have 3 division) So seems like I have a good chance to be leader in my division.. What do you think of this rosters so far??

I traded M. Harrison and Antowain Smith for Priest and Plaxico in week 4 when Harrison and Priest were struggling.

Then I traded Plaxico and Chester Taylor for Isaac Bruce in week 7. Taylor was in for Jamal Lewis then.

Then I traded a FA pickup of Stokley for Zach Thomas in week 8.

I was 2-2 before the Priest trade and now am 7-2 and high scorer in league by 200 points.

Drafted Priest #2 overall, and Curtis Martin in 3rd round. Traded CuMar for Moss+. Picked up Droughns before his breakout week. Wish i had Blaylock.

Chambers/CJ/Boldin all drafted. Lloyd picked up on waivers after last place team panicked in week 3 or 4 and cut him. No TE required.

Traded C-Mart for Suggs and 2K5 draft picks this week.

I clearly depleted my depth at RB, but we have the option of going four wides, one RB, so I feel I'm OK with Davis, Jones and the CLE committee. C-Mart minus Pennington makes me nervous, and I like CLE's schedule during our playoffs better than the Jets'. Additionally, the guy I traded with is tied for last place, so the picks (his 2nd and 4th rounders) should be pretty high in each round.

I know I overpaid (albeit only slightly, IMO) for Clayton, but he's peformed up to my expectations as my WR3.

Just looking through the rosters, there's a lot of teams with Manning at QB.  I'd be curious to see if any other player is more strongly correlated with a good record/playoff position.  God knows he has singlehandledly won games for me in the past 2 weeks.

And yet, the "Sharks" said go RB-RB, don't take a QB until round 6, etc.Looks like a lot of now.

Look at my roster in this post. I drafted Brady in round 7. Went RB-RB (bennett round 2 ).

Funny - I see a lot of rosters with Brooks on them. Tells me it paid to wait on QB....

Playoff Bound teams, post your teams for analysis

7-2 in my keeper league in a 14 game regular season with two playoff rounds and then the Super Bowl in week 17. Here's my roster with commentsaunte Culpepper- I hope that Moss returns healthy for the FF playoffs. The worrisome game might be week 17 at Washington. If I can make it to the Super Bowl, that would be C-Pepp's matchup.Byron Leftwich- Obviously on my bench all year. If he heals well, he has a much better matchup in week 17 vs. Oakland. Naturally, Culpepper will have to be stone cold for me to play Leftwich at that point.Edgerrin James- His last three games aren't a cakewalk vs. Baltimore, San Diego, and at Denver. Still, I think Edge will finish strong.Onterrio Smith- Still giddy about snatching him off waivers at the beginning of his suspension.Brian Westbrook- He's been on my bench almost the entire season. Has good matchups in weeks 16 (Rams) and 17 (Bengals).Curtis Martin- In my auction league, I picked him up for a paltry $5. If I can reach the Super Bowl, Martin has a potentially great matchup at the pourous Rams.Hines Ward- More TDs would be nice, but he's still getting targeted a bunch.Chad Johnson- Certainly a dissapointment, but let's hope Chad and Carson's trip to Indy will give them a spark.Anquan Boldin- Picked him up in the draft dirt cheap for $2. If he begins developing a better rapport with McCown, he has two good matchups late with the Rams (week 15) and the Seahawks (16).Jason Witten- I recommended that people pick up Gates at the beginning of the year, but unfortunately, a shark in my auction draft had a lot more cap money than I and grabbed Gates up. Thankfully, I pickup up Witten for only $1 in week two.Washington D- Got them off waivers two weeks ago.New England D- A dork in my league dropped them last week and I scooped them up. I love their week 17 matchup at home vs. San Francisco. That smells like a shutout to me.
