Playoff Kickers - Who ya got? (1 Viewer)

rolling with Hauschka. Thinking the Cardinals D should keep the Seahawks out of the redzone a sufficient amount of times...

Dr Brew who did you drop Tucker for?
ScobeeTucker is automatic, but the weather looks like crap. I can still pick him up as I dropped him to clear waivers tomorrow AM
I've got Scobee too, but alot of the expert rankings have him in the bottom. Don't no why since he's at home with no weather concerns. Bailey is getting top 5 consideration in Washington with the cold weather....

I don't get it either. Weather is a factor in 90% of the games this week. Jacksonville has very mild weather compared to others.

Also, Jacksonville hasn't scored less than 27 points more than once since their week 9 bye.

Shorts and MJD could be factors in the rankings,,but even last time Jacksonville played ten, neither was much of a factor, todmann had more y/c than MJD. Shorts had 4 catches 40 yds.

And Scobee posted 10 fantasy points.

I expect about the same as last time these 2 met

Cold weather?!?!
Think he meant just "bad weather"From the matchups for subscribers earlier this week:

Weather: FedEx Field expects a high of 71 F with a 40% chance for rain/thunderstorms and winds around 15 MPH. If there is a lot of lightning at game time, expect delays. All phases of the game will be more difficult than usual if the rain comes down thickly at game time and winds will adversely affect the passing and kicking games. Owners of players from Washington and Dallas should check a shorter-term forecast before setting their lineups this weekend.

Nflweather.com most up to date:

Scattered showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 14 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Yup, one look at the weather radar and my decision was made easy. Scobee it is. Everyone on the east coast is looking at storms all day. I'm not starting a kicker in rain

Good luck all. Off to the hospital, so my team is what it is now

My options are Novak Gano Henery Akers Succop

Dodds and Herman are way off each other weekly, do they factor in weather?
Doubt it. Kffl seemed to though
I used to use that site a lot but haven't this year. They have Scobee ranked first. That's all I needed to see to feel confident rolling with him. I picked up Bailey yesterday in hopes of the bad weather missing the DC area, but it just started pouring here 10 minutes ago. That's not to say it will last, but if the game were being played right now, I wouldn't be starting a K in this game.

What about Graham? Reports say he looked good during warm ups this morning. It will be raining and windy, but he should still get his chances, right?

I had Zuerlein this week and it ended up being a great choice but again, this week just demonstrated that there is almost no science to picking kickers week to week - it's just so random.

Perhaps one thing to keep in mind w/kickers is teams do not practice all preseason or game plan each week to kick fgs. While it may seem highly random (like defenses) I think for teams like SF, Sea their D's and kicker's performance are not anymore random than us trying to predict MichaelCrabtree, or RodStreaters weekly projections.

My apologies if he was mentioned already but Kai Forbath would seem to be a strong option if you place value on the Vegas O/U lines. That's projected to be the highest scoring game of the week and Dallas' defense obviously is terrible so one would think Washington wouldn't have any trouble moving the ball.
I'm pretty happy with how this one worked out. Forbath's looking good in Week 17 again if you're in a league playing this week.

The call on Forbath was correct, good call.

Zuerlein was a good start no matter what, in a dome, no bad weather, the right opponent that might allow good defensive opportunities. He probably was owned in a lot of leagues, that was a kicker people were actually targeting in drafts.

Dawson was the kicker to have at the end of the year, good call there.

On Scobee, you can't predict blocked XPs. If he makes that the Jags likely go for the FG at the end of the game from the TEN 20, then probably OT with another shot at a FG. The missed XP turned a good to great day (maybe 8-12 FFP) into a poor one (4). Trying to predict that XP is no more random, maybe less random even considering how often XPs are made, than Vern Davis putting up a zero in the FF championship, Vereen getting injured in the 1st quarter or Steve Ridley fumbling in a game and getting benched for the duration.

Whoever said to cut Tucker was totally correct, that decision or non-decision won and lost some championships.
