Plummer to the Eagles? (1 Viewer)

Makes absolutely no sense that Denver would do that in the middle of a play off push. It'll never happen.

 
Even still...why would the Eagles pursue Plummer when they have McNabb? Are they gonna let McNabb go?

 
McNabb might never be the same after this injury. Come 2008, he'll be what, 3 years removed from a full NFL season? That's a lot of time to miss for a guy who relies somewhat on his wheels.

Plummer is no longer a full-time NFL starter to me, but could be a superb backup.

 
McNabb hasn't "relied on his wheels" for years now. He's a pocket passer with some mobility but not much of an inclination to run anymore. When he comes back, I don't think his game will be as hampered as much as CPep's was.

 
Sounds like someone talking just to hear themselves talk. Which would describe 90% of the sports guys out there.

I think it's pretty clear that Culpeppers game was limited by losing Moss, not the injury.

It was a combination of the two for sure. I'm of the thought that Culpepper will never put up numbers like he did with Moss again. Even if Moss ends up in Miami in the offseason.

Its true. However, even immobility hampered Palmer's season to an extent. I'd say that McNabb uses his mobility more than Palmer, so he'll definitely be affected. Remember that 15 second play in the pocket? Will never happen again. Remember all those times where he dodges, ducks, dives, and dodges around defenders? Never again. Those were happening this year, even if his rushing stat line doesn't show it.It changes the defensive scheme. It helps the recievers, running backs, everything. That is no longer a big asset to his game. It should be interesting to see where we go. I think we'll get a bigger RB and some sort of older vet QB. Problem with QBs, there are MANY teams who want them, esp after this year imo. For instance, I'd say the following teams are in the market:BufHouOakGBMinDetMight be in the market?BalCleChiKCI realize that not all those teams might actually be looking, but how many QBs are actually available? Much less than the demand. :wall:

its pre-emptive to say that his mobility will basically be gone after this injury. Yes, the 15 second scramble in the backfield isn't going to be happening again, but for him not being able to dodge defenders seems a little off base. He may not have the mobility he had when coming into the league (an argument could be made that he's been missing that the last 3 seasons), but even after the surgery, its not going to be gone. Alot of his ability is based off of his instincts to duck/dive/dodge those defenders, thats not just going to go away. Will he lose some of his mobility? of course he will, his age coupled with this surgery will do that.Will he still be more mobile then alot of the starting QBs in the league? i think so. He wont be right behind vick in scrambling ability, but he should still be well above the norm.

Plummer and/or Leftwich should move teams, perhaps to Detroit and Oakland.Minnesota will give Jackson a chance. Carr wasn't bad this year.
 
Fox Sports is now reporting that the Titans expect to have Plummer under contract and under center for the game this week against the Giants.
