Pokemon Go (1 Viewer)

If you want to see what your guys will evolve into: Use Pokemon Tools Evolve Calculator

If you want to know what characters are strongest, and what moves are strongest for each character: Use this sheet

TIP: If you're not evolving your Eevee into Vapereon, you're missing out. They are significantly overpowered in this game. It's good to have at least one strong of each type... but having 3-4 strong Vapereons in your fighting 6 will make short work of almost anything else.

About my game: Lvl 21 (halfway up)

• Using the calculator above, apparently my Exeggute 661cp will evolve into Exeggutor 1660-1995    Just 6 candies away...
• Been catching a ####load of Eevees. Currently sitting on 1x Flareon (1331cp), 3x Jolteon (highest 1321cp), and 3x Vapereon (highest 1603cp)
• Once you've found very busy areas (dense with lured stops, nearby gyms, etc), playing normal rural game sucks ###. I already find myself bored with grabbing overly resistant rats and pidgeys. Will only pick up the phone for something good.

Just spotted a ??? Snorlax while sitting at my desk. Looked down at my phone and he was just hanging out on my screen. #### has been breaking out and running all day so I got a little nervous. Berry... ultraball... caught on first try. 1770cp. :banned:

Sadly he's got Zen headbutt and Hyper Beam moves (less good than Lick and Body Slam) but I'll take him.

Vaporean is severely overpowered.  I have one at around 1700 and another around 1640.  They conquer all.  Kinda silly it's stronger than Pokemon that would take several months to level up when you can get a Vap in a few hours.

I dont know if I can wait to use a lucky egg to evolve these evees. I dont want to miss out on the trick
It didn't work for me yesterday, hopefully it's not patched.  After you rename it, at least completely backout of the game and allow time for the servers to recognize the name change.  Good luck.

Just did it. I have a 991 Rainer now. Closed out. Guess we will see if the name changes. Doesnt matter I guess. 991 is by far the best I have

Living in the city, we're lucky enough to be in range of a pokestop from our couch. Putting lures on that is fun.

I feel the same as you about the pain in the ### common types in my area, but keep catching every single one anyways for candies (save up about 125 pidgey candies before popping a lucky egg each time, plus other evolves) and more importantly (I assume, I've just been saving it all) stardust. 100 stardust per pokemon is no joke.

We're in almost exactly the same place, I'm 24,000+ into level 21.

Wow. That's going to be a monster Vaporeon. I've gotten 1200-1400+ from 400-500cp Evees.

Edit: Just used that site. Looks like you're looking at a 2600-2700 Vaporeon. woah

There was a gym across the street from where I was eating lunch that had 9 pokemon all of which were over 2000CP.  A pair of Charizards, a Snorlax, a Gyrados, a Jolteon and a number of ones I did not recognize.  I can't imagine what it took to train that gym up to that level.
This is a huge problem that needs to be fixed soon. Basically, unless you're God level, don't even bother trying to take down a gym. Just collect pokemons and f*** off.

Once youve started the timer, it's started. Example... if you put someone in and collect... then they're booted. If you go to another gym while that timer is going and put someone in it, you can't collect for another 21 hours, even if it's a different gym.

The secret is to have a rotation of a few gyms nearby that are easy to take and will hold for an hour or two.... knock them over around the 20th hour, then collect on them all at hour 21.  MOST gyms are simply not going to be able to be held for 21 minutes let alone 21 hours unless you live in Pig####, OK and you're the only person in your town who can afford a smartphone.

Good plan.  Just wait until your counter cycles and try to get a reward asap.  There is a park nearby where about 40 kids on bikes were scooting between 4 gyms and about 12 pokestops on a stretch that's less than a mile.  Every gym was under attack non-stop.  Nobody is going to hold something like that, well maybe someone could hold a gym overnight once the kids go to sleep.

Bear in mind that the reward for taking/holding a gym is worth less than a dime.  You could drop five bucks and get 55 gyms' worth of poke coins.

I would like the game better if it allocated stats better. Every Pokemon should be allowed to level up to 10,000, imo.

eta: I guess I should remember this is a game for kids.  :bag:

With the hacks available, in theory, you can take a gym anywhere you want.  Just for ####s and giggles I loaded up a "tweaked" app and created a second account.  For whatever reason, it started with my "home" in San Francisco (I live in Cleveland area).  Anyway, the tweaked app has a teleport feature where you can put in coordinates and jump locations.  The youtube guy showing the hack said to avoid using it for risk of getting your account banned.   So, I did not try the teleport yet as I wanted to screw around in San Francisco for a while.  Holy Hell, that area is loaded with hundreds upon hundreds of pokestops, many with lures constantly.  I was always surrounded with pokemon and couldn't use supplies fast enough as they were effectively endless. I went from new account to level 11 with a completely full backpack just messing around tonight and did not use any lucky eggs or evolve anything.  Gyms were turning over quick...I snuck a pokemon into a gym to collect some coins when I was able to catch a grey gym in transition, but it barely lasted 21 seconds.  So I was running around San Francisco and actually put a pokemon into a San Fran gym from my living room chair in Cleveland, OH.

Not true at all... 90% of gyms I encounter only have 2-4 guys on them (usually 400-1600cp range) and are easily taken down by anyone with a decent starting 6. The myth that you have to be elite to take gyms is wrong. Get out there and try.. It's quite easy as long as you're not trying to take big stronghold and hotly contested gyms

Yea, once you get a Vaporeon its actually quite easy.  Working on a Jolteon to take down the Vaporeons I'm always encountering

So when I left "town" last night, I had a guy in three different gyms with the counter counting down.  Thought I would get 30 coins when I collected this morning, but all 3 were taken over and I got nothing.

So this morning, on my way into town, I took a gym and immediately got 10 coins - and a new timer of 21 hours.  Means as long as my guy holds the gym, I get no coins, but would get 10 coins for every gym I hold ~20 hours from now.  So wouldn't it be better if my guy gets booted, and then I immediately go take another gym and collect 10 coins?  Am I thinking that through?

Just got this warning sent by our CIO for whatever it is worth:

For users playing Pokémon Go using a Google account login, the game's standard terms and conditions gives the developer (Niantic) unrestricted access to your Google email, Google Contact Lists and Google Drive. It also authorizes Niantic to sell the information obtained through the accounts. In short, this means they can take whatever they want and get away with it because you accepted the terms and conditions to play the game. Unfortunately, companies like this force us to read the small print and understand their hidden meaning behind it.

I'm pretty sure you could put a guy in different gyms and collect the 10 coins in each of them immediately. You just can't collect from the same gym more than once in a 21 hour period.

Not sure this is true.  Going to go try it out now.  I think I had before, and wasn't given an option to collect on the 2nd or 3rd gym when I put a guy in.  Does it matter if you take the gym over, or simply level up a friendly gym and put a guy in?  Maybe that's the difference?

They use the same engine to ban people that ingress had. Risky.

I'm relatively certain you can only collect once every 21 hrs, and it's based one the number of gyms you hold at the point you hit collect.

So while having a guy in one gym, I went and leveled up a friendly gym and put another guy in there.  Wasn't able to collect a new 10 coins, but the timer now has a "2" in the middle.  So should I still have both holding these gyms I should get 20 coins in ~20 hours.

I may have been better, though, to have had my first guy booted from that gym, and then done what I did at the second.  That way, I would have gotten an immediate 10 coins now and could have repeated this tactic all day getting 10 coins each time.

Used some stardust last night ... my Top 6 - Just rolled to level 22:
Vaporeon 1843 (2 upgrades left - has the ideal/overpowered  water gun + aqua tail move set)
Vaporeon 1825 (capped - has the ideal/overpowered  water gun + aqua tail move set)
Snorlax 1815 (several upgrades left)
Flareon 1331 (several upgrades left)
Jolteon 1321 (2-3 upgrades left)
Exeggutor 1233 (lots of upgrades left) - Should have a 1700-1900 one of these soon.

Have a slew of 1000-1200 Vaporeon/Pidgeot/Pinsir/Jolteon for dropping on Gyms or filling in for specific attacks

This is correct.

When you see the timer running out, you do not need to rush to place a guy in the gym. You can let the timer run out, place a guy in the gym, then collect.

You can only hit collect once per 21 hours, so don't place someone then collect immediately. Place as many as you can, then collect for all of them.

Forgive me, but I guess I'm not following this.

This morning I had zero guys in gyms.  I drove by one one my way to work, took it out and put a guy in there.  Was able to collect 10 coins.  Great.  Later went to a friendly gym, leveled it up and put a guy in there.  No collection available, but my timer now said 2.  Then went and took out an opposing gym and put a guy in there, again no collection available.  But my timer now says 3.  Tomorrow morning, should all 3 still be in their gyms (doubtful) I'll be able to collect 30 coins.

Or had I waited a bit and had my first guy booted from a gym so I'd no no guys in gyms, I could go out and put a guy in a gym and immediately collect 10 coins, correct?  Or would I have to wait till the full 21 hour timer runs out?

I'm just trying to figure out a strategy to maximize my coin collections.  I'd like to buy a third egg incubator.

If you waited until you had your third guy in a gym to hit collect, you would have gotten 30 coins. Once you had hit collect after the first gym, your timer has restarted and you cannot collect until this timer runs out.

Regarding the bolded: Yes, correct. Your timer will reset only after you hit collect.

Best way to cash in on coins is to wait till the timer has run out, place as many as you can, then hit collect.

Especially the ones with the Hydro Pump attack move. This destroys opponents. My best guy is a 1873 Vaporeon that evolved from a 693 Eevee.

Ok, now I get what folks are saying.  Sorry about that.  So lets say I have no one in any gym.  If I were to go around and quickly put 4-5 guys in gyms around town, and then hit collect I'd get 40-50 coins - but couldn't hit collect again for another 21 hours.

Same here, I used it twice with success. When I went to use it again it was random.

If you're using anything other that water gun (500ms timing / 10dmg) with your vape you're not optimizing damage. It's the 2nd most powerful move in the entire game behind Mew's PsychoCut. People are even complaining that it's so dominant it should be nerfed. A side benefit of the speed of the attack is you can dodge, wheras big attacks leave you exposed for several seconds.
