Pokemon Go (2 Viewers)

I took the family to the zoo today. Pokestops everywhere! I was down to 2 each pokeballs and great balls,  now I have 140 and 35, respectively.

I wasnt really catching any of them,  just doing the stops.  But I hatched a 5k egg and got my first Pikachu.  Now that I've got one,  I'm actually seeing them show up around me.  Those little effers are tough to catch!

It's difficult (almost impossible) to play in rural areas. That's a common complaint. I once booted it up at a friend's farm and there was nothing around anywhere. Nothing ever showed on the nearby radar. I generally play in a large city where I'm used to running into something every block or so.
Just did a 1.8 mile walk with the family.  I caught my 6th Pigey and a Ratatooie (whatever the rat is).

I have a long way to go... just reached Level 12.  Pikachu is my first Pokemon.  I didn't pick one of the 3 pokeys when I started the game and Pikachu showed up after I walked around a bit.

I activated one of my two lucky eggs by mistake.  I was "Oh, no!" because I was home and caught almost nothing.  However, two 2.0 km eggs hatched during the 30 minutes and I got a 215cp Electrabuzz and a 206cp Slowpoke.  Do lucky eggs helps you get better hatches?

I found out all the kids go to the park at the town centre to plug in their lure modules 3 at a time.  I sat in the middle of the 3 pokestops and activated my incense for an extra boost.  I was expecting some higher # pokemons but only got a few 390cp Raticates and Fearows and one Beedrill :(

They shouldn't, but whoah. Shouldn't be able to get either of those guys from 2k eggs.

I've been getting some nice cp pokemon from my 10k eggs. Level 808 scyther two days ago, level 898 electabuzz today. Makes up for my crap 2k and 5k eggs I guess.

Evolved an eevee into a 1241 vaporeon today.  Kind of looking forward to battling with it.

this game needs a head to head battle feature between people standing next to each other.
I only keep one of each type of Pokemon as favourites and I delete all new catches that have lower CP.  I have caught 12 Eevees so far but my best one is only 298cp.  I am at Level 12 so I'll wait to evolve.  At least I have enough candies when I get a better one later.  Is a Vaporeon the best evolution?

just got level 5 and joined red team. I guess I need to go back 45 pages and start reading up on evolving pokemons. im trying to take over a local gym that's walking distance from the house

this morning there was a snorlax a pidgee and something else guarding it all around 1500 cp

I saw the Snorlax shape in my Pokemon bar after I reached level 8 but I had to leave and did not get to hunt it down.

It was for me.  I evolved 3 similar eevees around 450-500cp and the vaporeon was significantly higher cp and higher hp, then flareon, then ol' sparky.

Edit: but won't be anywhere near that high with a 298

Yup. The CP multipliers for Eevee evolutions are:

Jolteon: 2-2.1

Flareon: 2.46-2.483

Vaporeon: 2.63-2.73

I went to this beautiful park for the first time. There were about 60 people camped out playing. I caught 4 rare pokemon I had never seen, 30-35 magikarps and a bunch of other stuff in about an hour and a half. Not even fair. I could probably go back 2 more times and have enough candies for a gyarados.

Vaporean will evolve with a higher CP but has been significantly nerfed to the point Flareon may be the better Pokemon now.

Haven't battled with a Flareon lately, but Vaporeons are still very effective. I evolved my first one on the day of the nerf, can't imagine what they were like prior to that.

Listed as the 4th best battle pokemon here, post-nerf: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/4vx729/pokemon_rankings_cheat_sheets_gym_offense_gym/
That's the dual rankings and tbh the defense ranks don't mean much to me since the advantage is so heavliy geared to the attackers. In the updated offense rankings what was a Top 5 is now 11 while Flareon has moved to 5 http://i.imgur.com/HZMhyFg.png

There's an new app available for iPhones called Go Radar

It seems to be very accurate so far. Pokemon listed on the app can be found in the game exactly where the app indicates. It doesn't seem to work perfectly the other way around though. Pokemon that show up in the game or on the nearby list aren't necessarily found in the app.

So far, i find it to be better than Pokevision. It runs smoothly, there are filter options and despawn times.
What about Android?

Up to 148,359 in stardust. A third of the way through Level 22. Haven't spent any stardust yet.

My three best pokemon are a 1421 Flareon, a 1417 Flareon, and a 1267 Flareon. The Eevee naming trick only worked for me the first three times (1082 Vaporeon, 949 Flareon and 777 Jolteon). Since then I've gotten the three Flareon above and a 1207 Vaporeon. Still have 291 in Eevee candy. They're plentiful around here.

I do have a 1130 Victreebel that seems to kick Vaporeon butt in gyms. My 1120 Wigglytuff also seems to rule in gyms. And a 1030 Vileplume does well against some pokemon in gyms. I've won 77 gym battles so far.

I really see ZERO reason to spend stardust yet, as I'm sure I'll catch a lot better pokemon over the next 8 levels than I already have now.

I think this thing has just about run its course for me, just hit level 21 this weekend.

IMO the need to have a lot more variety in the pokemon you get in a certain area. I get that you're supposed to be traveling, and that some of the pokemon are supposed to be very rare. That said, with 250 pokemon or whatever, there's no reason the same six need to be showing up time and time and time again.

Who cares about leveling up if the only thing that changes is the CP28 Weedle is now impossible to catch?

Went to Kennywood (amusement park) on Saturday - was able to hatch a few eggs riding rollercoasters and some rides without walking and there were Pokestops galore. #WINNING!

Someone can correct me, but I believe there are only 138 total you can catch. I am guessing once they get the glitches out of this and get it stable (which will probably include some form of Pokevision they develop) you are going to see a release of like 10-12 more to keep interest up.

I think either in December or January, we will start seeing Generation II Pokemon, and they won't roll out 10-12 at a time. It'll be all at once. I've heard they'll be adding a generation every six months or so.

I believe they will soon institute 1v1 battles where you can challenge someone near you rather than only being able to battle at gyms. I think they'll soon have breeding rather than just having to randomly get eggs at Poke Stops. Trading is coming as well, but that won't be until the spoofers have been banned.

Doesn't seem to work for me

Finally saw my first ??? Pokemon in the wild...the evolved form of the starfish looking thing.

Jerk ate 5 raspberries and escaped from 5 great balls then ran off.

Spent weekend in Boston... So many stops downtown. Now have 250 balls / 100 mega and 50 ultra.

That should be enough to catch a good 15-20 pidgeys/rats.

hit lvl 23... Have a 2k vape now. Took Fenway park's gym with the GF while waiting for Pearl jam to go on stage. Needless to say win 50-60k people there it was impossible to hold long... But being a lifelong sox fan it was a fun one to screen capture.

Ok now I get it.  The kid and I went to a downtown area and it was on today.  I think we caught 100 In a matter of hours.

Everyone needs to download the update. They fixed the bug where you don't get more XP with nice, great, and excellent throws. You have to actually download the update though.

Pro tip:  Cydia will disable Pokemon go. My son found out the hard way.

I'd never even heard of the app but apparently it's for people who've jail broken their phones and want to cheat on games etc. It required detailed instructions to install. It was also a PITA to delete.

Flying to Iceland with wifi. Going to see if I can get some in the Atlantic Ocean. Doubtful but I will try.
